Mindset Monday – Toxic Emotions and How to Get Rid of Them

There is a strong correlation between your emotions and your physical health.
Often times we only place our attention on what’s taking place on the surface (headaches, common cold) while neglecting the core of our very being, which is the inner life of our emotions. It’s like changing your DNA emotionally.
Louis Hay wrote the book, “Heal Your Body: The Mental Causes for Physical Illness and the Metaphysical Way to Overcome Them.” In her book, Hay taught that our thought patterns lead to a variety of health issues.
Science is proving now that toxic emotions such as anger leads to hypertension which triggers a domino effect of stress hormones, inflammation, and plaque in our arteries that lead to heart disease.
So how do we renew our emotions from within? Today I’m going to give you 3 tools!
2. Being Open-Hearted
So let’s have a closer look of these three tools for a better outlook in life!
Tool #1 Forgiveness
Coming from a background of abuse… In my prayer, I forgave…. (quick summary of personal story). Forgiveness is a daily exercise. It’s not something that we master overnight. Forgive and learn to let go.
How do you forgive someone? Everyday, say to yourself… “I am beginning to learn now to love and accept myself. I forgive anyone that has done wrong to me.”
As we affirm positive words, it begins to change our physiology, neurology, and even our attitudes toward people. The key is that forgiveness is not a one time event.
Tool #2 Being Open-Hearted
Being open-hearted means to have a listening ear to those around you. Some of your friends and family are also learning this every lesson of forgiveness. After you’ve listened to your friend/family, open your heart and share what you learned here today. Let them know that you’re also learning this lesson.

Get rid of the toxic emotions! Life is full of happy emotions and the only way that we can preserve a happy outlook in life is to get rid of the ones that are making us sad! Be happy because life is beautiful and it deserves your smile!
