Your Personality Is As Unique As Your Brain – Literally!

By Justin Cowart

For years scientists have tried to understand why each person is completely unique and different from everyone else on earth. Although you often have similar traits, behaviors and interests as others, you are never a complete duplicate of someone else.

Recently Scientists Discovered WHY We Are So Unique!

Did you know that your personality is unique because of the individual make up of nerve fiber bundles, white-matter tracts, volume, cortical thickness and blood flow?

That’s right, scientists have found many unique factors that are completely different in every brain they look at. Although the general design and functions of our brains are similar, our own perspective is based on our own specific mental structure.

Every single person on earth has a different level and mixture of personality traits: some people are super tough, or even really anxious, while others are crazy outgoing.  This brand new study strongly suggests that even the brain itself has completely different traits that can strongly affect your cognitive and anatomical factors, such as memory and intelligence.

The awesome results of the study were published in a journal called NeuroImage.

The leader of the study, Aron K. Barbey, stated that,

“A major focus of research in cognitive neuroscience is understanding how intelligence is shaped by individual differences in brain structure and function.

For many years, multiple cognitive neuroscientists have strove to find the different relationships between the mental processes within specific areas of the brain. Up until now though, the researchers have been unable to reach the conclusion that they have been searching after, which was to successfully integrate comprehensive measures of the functions and structure of the brain in one analysis.

Alongside his team, Barbey was able to measure up the size and even shape of the individual features all over the brain.

“We were able to look at nerve fiber bundles, white-matter tracts, volume, cortical thickness and blood flow,”

said first author of the research, Patrick Watson, who went on to also state that,

“Brains are as different as faces and this study helped us understand what a ‘normal’ brain looks like. By looking for unexpected brain differences, we were able to hone in on parts of the brain related to things like memory and intelligence.”

The results from this study really help explain how we all differ so much from one another on a personality level. I personally just went through a week-long journey for a meditation retreat. During this week I was able to, through the power of noble silence, become more in-tune with how my body and mind work together.

People all around the world have been utilizing meditation as a tool to calm their minds and become more in-tune with themselves. It can be such a powerful tool in your arsenal that, once you have unlocked its power, you can personally discover how to live a balanced lifestyle.

How You Can Rewire Your Brain

Did you know that through your focus you can literally rewire your brain?

It may sound crazy, but scientists have found that when you change the old patterns of your mind through deep focus and concentration, you can rewire the neurons, creating different responses to various stimuli moving forward.

For example, if you found that you got angry every time you saw a certain coworker in the break room, after taking a few hours of practicing specific types of meditation, such as Vipassana meditation, you may find that you are no longer bothered by their behavior. In fact, you may even find that you feel nothing but peace and happiness towards them.

Starting with some basic meditations can surely help calm and focus the mind, but if you want to do some intense rewiring, it is best to seek out a meditation expert who can guide you through the process and make sure you have the tools you need to solidify your life practice.

Let us know in the comments below what you have found to help you rewire the patterns of your mind.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
