Miracle Oil: How To Use Frankincense for Inflammation, Scarring and Infections
By Angelique Johnson
We all love essential oils because of the variety of medicinal benefits they provide.
But did you know that there’s a specific essential oil that can help kill cancer?
For over 5,000 years, frankincense has had many uses that go far beyond just the biblical anointing oil that the three wise men gave the infant King of Israel in the Nativity story. This essential oil was used to help support the immune system, fight infections and prevent disease.
Today, research has shown that frankincense can even be used as a potential all-natural remedy for cancer.
Frankincense, also known as Boswellia serrata, has been used in folk medicine for decades to help asthma, gastroenteritis and skin issues. Some of the other benefits of frankincense include:
- Boosts your immune system
- Helps to fight infections
- Relaxes anxieties
- Inflammation fighter
- Reduces scarring from acne and wound
And last, but not least:
Studies have shown that a compound called AKBA (acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid) found in frankincense was able to kill cancer cells in patients who had late-stage ovarian cancer without any harmful side effects.
Other studies have also found that the AKBA in frankincense can be used as a potential remedy for other cancers such as cancers of the breast, brain, pancreatic, colon, prostate and stomach.
Researchers believe that the potential cancer-killing properties of this amazing essential oil are because of how it helps to regulate your genes and even encourages them to promote healing in your body. The oil can also boost your immune system by helping to proliferate white blood cells (your body’s natural defense system) and to exterminate inflammation.
How Frankincense Can Help Patients With Cancer
Different kinds of cancers have different effects on the body and some of them can be quite debilitating. For example, brain cancer patients may experience swelling in their head after receiving radiation therapy. As a result of the radiation, these patients suffer from migraines and blurred vision due to steroids they are given to try to reduce the swelling.
Research has shown that frankincense oil can reduce brain swelling by up to 75% when patients were given less than ¼ of an ounce of the essential oil per day.
How To Use Frankincense
Incorporating frankincense into your daily health routine is easy and you can start feeling the benefits to your immune system almost immediately. Use the oil in an essential oil diffuser to help not only prevent and kill cancer cells, but to also help with respiratory conditions.
The oil can also be mixed with olive oil and applied directly to the skin. Frankincense can also be taken as a supplement (sold as Boswellia) in pill form, or also taken orally by dropping a few drops of the essential oil under your tongue.
