Wrinkles are mainly caused by oxidation. Free radicals damage your cells and skin cells are not an exception. As you get older, your skin cell proliferation decreases and your skin becomes thinner and more vulnerable to injuries. Collagen and sebum production is reduced as well.

Your skin loses its elasticity and gravity worsens the situation.  As a result, you end up with wrinkly, sagging skin.

The good news is that you don’t have to spend thousands of bucks to preserve your youthful look.

The time before plastic surgeries existed, women successfully used natural methods to beat aging.

Here are some methods you can incorporate into your daily skincare routine to keep your skin young and wrinkle-free:

1. Lemon Juice And Glycerine

Lemons are high in vitamins – especially vitamin C, which is a strong antioxidant – and minerals. Glycerine (vegetable glycerine) hydrates and softens your skin. These two combined have a powerful anti-aging effect.

Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of glycerine. Apply mixture on your face every night after you wash it with warm water.

2. Frankincense And Almond Oil

Frankincense essential oil has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties, while almond oil softens and moisturizes your skin; it’s high in fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, E and K. This is an Egyptian recipe, they call it The Elixir of Cleopatra.

Mix 1-2 drops of frankincense essential oil with 1 tablespoon of almond oil. Apply this mixture on your clean skin and massage into it for 5-20 minutes before bed. After the massage, wipe off the excess oil and go to sleep. In the morning wash your face with warm water and continue with your daily skincare routine.

3. Pomegranate

Drinking a glass of pomegranate juice every day can help keep your skin smooth and beautiful. Applying pomegranate seed oil and pomegranate extract on your skin stimulates collagen production and prevents its breakdown.

Use pomegranate to fight aging (organic is best). You can eat the seeds, blend them into smoothies, or apply pomegranate seed oil directly to your skin.

4. Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, which will not only keep your skin moisturized, but also improve its quality and elasticity. This is the only oil that won’t clog your pores.

Use few drops of hemp seed oil every day after you wash your face.

5. Ginger And Aloe

These two can fight wrinkles internally and externally. Ginger protects against collagen breakdown, is an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe vera stimulates skin regeneration and is also a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory herb.

Use equal amounts of ginger and aloe vera juice and apply mixture to the problematic areas. Rinse off after 20 minutes.
