The vitamin family holds an important role in our health and well-being with every member of the household having a unique and important function that it alone has the ability to provide. Some of them are vital for your skin, others for your heart and still others for the daily metabolism of your body.

One such important member of the family is vitamin B12 that has a variety of important functions to perform. They are so intermingled with your everyday life that a little deficiency can cause marked problems with your health.

What are the benefits of this vitamin and what roles does it actually have?

Vitamin B12 plays an important role in how your body generates energy. You might have noticed how often medical practitioners give you B12 supplements to help with fatigue and body weakness. This is the secret behind it: if energy production was a factory, then B12 would be the oil in its machines.

Without it, the system would fail to work properly and simply heat up, making you tired and weak all the time. The vitamin is also necessary for optimal functioning of your thinking and intelligence, so, in short B12 functions to make you smart as well as energetic.

Vitamin B12 is a vital necessity for the bones. All those people suffering from bone pain and weak legs can get rid of their pain using this vitamin. This is due to the role of the vitamin in producing the substance of the bone which makes them stronger.

Talking about pain, these vitamins are also needed to protect your nerves from damage that could potentially lead to severe pain. Nerves are surrounded by a protective covering called the myelin sheath that is important for the protection of the nerve itself. The role of vitamin B12 is to replenish and fortify this covering, preventing nerve damage.

Vitamin B12 has a major part in the healthy functioning of your heart. Let alone the heart, the whole blood circulation system would be impaired in its abilities if there was a shortage of B12. The vitamin removes homocysteine from the blood, which is a severely harmful protein that could cause major damages to the blood vessels and ultimately disease your heart.

Vitamin B12 also decreases the cholesterol levels in the circulation, which promotes a better environment for your heart to work in.

Vitamin B12 has a big hand in regulating your nervous system. It works by controlling your stress levels and the highs and lows of your mood. Having abundant quantities in your system means a lower chance of encountering depression, ensuring a fuller and happier life.

Clearly, life without vitamin B12 could be more of a problem than anything and when it is so readily available, not taking advantage of it seems to be a big mistake. There are plenty of ways to ensure that you are getting an adequate amount of vitamin B12 into your daily diet, here are just a few:

  • Tuna
  • Eggs
  • Salmon
  • Mackerel
  • Crab
  • Beef

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
