Why YOU Should Drop Those GMO-Laden Soybeans (Roundup Causes Cancer)

In the past few decades, researchers have amazed us with copious improvements in every field of science. However, though many of them showed us great benefits, in my opinion, we must respect the laws of nature and our body’s.
The Scary Truth About GMO’s
You are what you eat. And if you eat genetically modified organisms (GMO’s), in which various genes of different species are mixed, you can’t expect anything good to come of it AT ALL.
Most of us know that consuming GMO’s can cause numerous health problems long term. In addition, the pesticides that farmers use to spray these crops are particularly harmful, too.
Let’s start with the fact that GMO’s were invented to decrease the amount of chemicals needed to protect them, to achieve higher nutritional value, to be more resistant to unfriendly weather conditions, etc. But when you examine the real results, this statement couldn’t be further from the truth.
Roundup is a powerful herbicide that kills every kind of plant. Glyphosate, Roundup’s main ingredient, blocks the synthesis of amino acids in the plants, making it so they can’t survive.
There was a type of GMO soy engineered to endure this harmful process, but is it really a good idea to eat a plant after this? I’m going to say NO! In addition, inventing GMO soy hasn’t decreased the amount of this herbicide that farmers spray on their fields – it’s caused just the opposite. Farmers using roundup on their fields led to Roundup-resistant weeds and, as a result, have had to use more and more nasty chemicals.
Finally, some scientists started to investigate whether that chemical – glyphosate – was harmful or not for human beings. I bet you won’t be surprised when I tell you the results. WHO’s researcher group classified glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans.”
Yet it’s still being used in OUR food supply!
In the case of GMO’s, I won’t just say, “drop the soybeans.” Instead, I’ll say, drop EVERYTHING that is considered to be a GMO, not just soybeans, but corn, beet sugar and everything else that is not organic or locally grown (where you know the process from farm to table)!
Okay, let’s examine the smaller details about WHY Roundup is so harmful for you…
1. Roundup can cause BIG problems, even in extremely low concentrations.
This chemical can downregulate the apoptotic pathways of the mitochondria. Apoptosis (or programmed cell death) plays a particularly important role in maintaining your health. In this process, old or damaged cells die.
Cancer cells, which are genetically damaged cells, don’t have this feature, so they will proliferate and form a tumor in long term.
Fortunately or unfortunately, this effect of Roundup is more potent in lower concentrations than the exact amount commonly used in agriculture (which inhibits cell growth), making this herbicide an endocrine disrupter.
2. Roundup, due to its estrogenic properties, enhances breast cancer cell proliferation.
Glyphosate, as a xenoestrogen, raises hormone-dependent breast cancer cell proliferation via estrogen receptors. Soybeans contain phytoestrogens. When these two estrogenic effects are added together, you can’t help but wonder if this is a factor as to why the breast cancer rates in the U.S. are so high where women consume more GMO soy.
3. Roundup can cause DNA damage.
Glyphosate and its formulations can cause DNA damage, which is linked with cancer initiation.
4. Glyphosate can cause cancer in the lymph tissue.
In the international Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health scientist recently published a study titled Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and occupational exposure to agricultural pesticide chemical groups and active ingredients: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
They say that there’s a positive association between glyphosate exposure and non-hodgkin lymphomas, particularly B cell lymphoma.
5. Roundup causes cancer in rats at levels permitted in drinking water and GM crops in US.
In the journal, Food and Chemical Toxicology, scientist reported their concerns about GMO foods.
In all treated groups, female rats died 2-3 times more quickly than in the control groups. Male rats were 2.5-5.5 times more likely to develop liver congestion and necrosis. Marked and severe kidney nephropathies also occurred in higher rates.
Unfortunately, this herbicide can be present in air, rain and drinking water because it’s widely used in agriculture. If you choose organic and local, non-GMO products, you’ll not only save yourself from this poisonous chemical, but by not supporting Monsanto with your money, you protect your environment as well.
