But have you heard about Matcha Green Tea?

I am enjoying a delicious, homemade matcha green tea almond milk latte (recipe below) as I write about this superfood! Matcha is a form of green tea using the actual leaves, stoneground. This allows you to experience the benefits of green tea exponentially. Because you are ingesting the full leaves in powdered form, matcha is also loaded with fiber and you end up with 137 times more antioxidants.

Here are some delicious recipes you can make with Matcha:

Matcha Green Tea Almond Milk Latte
 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • ⅓ cup of water
  • 1 tsp. of Matcha
  • 1 tsp. of stevia
Instructions
  1. Heat in a small pot all together until warm.
  2. Remove from heat just before boiling. You can use a whisk to stir together, or if you have a bamboo whisk (Chasen), use that!
  3. You could also use a milk frother to make it foamier.
Matcha Mint Nana Ice cream
 
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup of almond milk
  • 3 frozen bananas
  • 1 tsp. of Matcha
  • 5 drops of peppermint extract
  • raw cacao chips (to top, optional)
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients (except cacao chips) to a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Put it in a bowl and top with cacao chips!
Mango Matcha Smoothie
 
Ingredients
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 tsp. matcha
  • 1 tsp. chia seeds
Instructions
  1. Blend until smooth and enjoy!
  2. Top with some fresh shredded coconut for a little boost of healthy fats (great for brain and skin health!).
