Why You Ought To Try Pumpkin Juice (+Recipe)

Pumpkins are popular this time of the year. You see pumpkin-this, pumpkin-that; the list is pretty much endless as to what you can do with pumpkin.

But have you ever thought about juicing a pumpkin?

Eating pumpkin does amazing things for your body. It helps your eyesight because of the large amount of vitamin A found in just one cup of pumpkin. It keeps you feeling full because of how much fiber is found in it. And eating pumpkin seeds can even help you sleep better because of a certain chemical found in them call tryptophan.

Eating pumpkin is good and healthy for you, but juicing a pumpkin is where you can reap all of the benefits that a pumpkin can give you!

1. Drinking pumpkin juice can help with digestive issues. Pumpkins contain a laxative property. This means that by drinking pumpkin juice, your issues with BOTH constipation and loose bowel movements can be reduced.

2. Pumpkin juice helps your urinary system to function smoothly. Pumpkin juice helps in removing toxic waste through your urinary system and kidneys. It is also a great remedy in reducing the symptoms of ulcers.

3. Speaking of kidneys, drinking pumpkin juice helps reducing the symptoms of both kidney stones and gall bladder problems. People who are suffering with kidney stones or gall bladder issues should drink at least half a glass of pumpkin juice 3 times per day over a 10 day period.

4. Drinking pumpkin juice can help prevent arteriosclerosis. Arteriosclerosis is when your blood vessels become thick and stiff and can often times restrict blood flow to your organs and tissues. Drinking pumpkin juice can help prevent this. The juice has cleansing properties and basically busts up the deposits found in your arteries. Pumpkin juice also contains a high level of antioxidants that help prevent further hardening of your artery walls.

5. When it comes to your vessels, pumpkin juice can also help control and regulate your cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Pumpkin juice contains phytosterols and pectin, both of which play a major part in reducing the “bad” cholesterol levels in your blood as well as reducing high blood pressure levels.

Not sure how to juice a pumpkin to get the full benefits? Here’s how!

1. Purchase a pumpkin that is meant to be eaten or made into pie. These are usually the smaller pumpkins.

2. Make sure to wash the outside of the pumpkin thoroughly.

3. Using a vegetable peeler, peel the hard skin of the pumpkin. Make sure to get as much hard skin off of the pumpkin that you can. The hard skin can clog your juicer.

4. Cut the pumpkin into quarters.

5. Remove the pulp and the seeds (save the seeds to bake them later. They contain their own benefits!).

6. Cut the pumpkin into small segments.

7. Throw the pumpkin segments into your juicer and juice as you normally would.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
