Why You Need To Stop Drinking Diet Soda NOW

I am a health minded person.
But… I’m also a human being.
While I may write about the healthiest habits to have, I also have days when I feel like eating pizza and drinking more wine than I probably should. It happens.
Previously, I had an “all or nothing” mentality when it came to my health and wellness. I expected PERFECTION… and drove myself nuts in the process. Now, I take a more realistic approach and strive to make healthy choices 95% of the time.
However, I do protect the “other” 5% of my choices. A slice of pizza – okay, okay, I’ll live. A glass of wine – you better believe I will cherish EVERY sip! BUT – there are certain items that I occasionally indulge in that I know are absolutely horrific for my health… and diet soda is one of them.
Diet soda is chock full of awfulness. The bubbles may seem happy and carefree in your mouth, but they burst into a whole bunch of negativity in your body once you swallow. DARN it – I really enjoy the occasional diet soda and am not enjoying digging it a grave right now… but YOUR health (and my health) is way more important than that little jolt you get from each crisp sip.
Here is WHY your diet soda habit needs to end NOW (don’t worry, I’m right there with ya):
Most diet sodas contain aspartame.
Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that is made up of 3 chemicals.
There are about 90 various documented symptoms caused by consuming aspartame. It also accounts for 75% of adverse reactions to food additives as reported to the Food and Drug Administration.

To make them, simply cut the ingredients and place them in a pitcher, pour sparkling water to fill the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator overnight to infuse the water and flavor together! Sweeten with pure stevia or raw honey if desired.

After researching and writing this article, I have NO desire to drink diet soda again. It’s ONLY harming you – there is no “silver lining” or benefit.
