“And when you crush an apple with your teeth, say to it in your heart:

Your seeds shall live in my body,

And the buds of your tomorrow shall blossom in my heart,

And your fragrance shall be my breath,

And together we shall rejoice through all the seasons,” wrote Khalil Gibran.

I love this beautiful quote about our connection to food. Using apples as an example makes it even better.

I LOVE apples. I always knew that they were not only yummy, but also healing and powerful – but I didn’t know that they were also a superfood!

Apples are are full of magical medicinal properties that are well-documented within biomedical literature. They have been proven to help prevent and fight various cancers, including:

  • Colorectal cancer
  • Liver cancer
  • Breast cancer
  • Multi-drug resistant cancers
  • Esophageal cancer
  • Stomach Cancer

What’s amazing is that it doesn’t matter what part or form of the apple you look at, it has anti-tumor properties everywhere!

Even apple cider vinegar, a result of the acetic fermentative process known as alpha-glycan, contains the same cancer-preventative compounds and much more.

Another indicator of just how powerful apples are is the fact that they can remove carcinogenic radioisotopes from your body, which are radioactive elements that can occur due to nuclear energy, nuclear weapons, depleted uranium munitions and disaster-associated pollutants, as happened in Chernobyl.

Post-Chernobyl, apple pectin was given to exposed children to reduce Cesium-137 levels. Significant reductions levels were noted within only 16 days and resulted in an average of 30-40% reduction.

Apple pectin was even successful in preventing the absorption of Plutonium -238, a deadly, man-made radioisotopes found in the gastrointestinal tract of animals that had been fed with it.

Apples are among the very few substances that are proven to protect against plutonium exposure.

Perhaps you are not necessarily so worried about nuclear exposure at this point, but apples have so many more benefits besides just nuclear-exposure aid.

Other health benefits of apples include:

  • Shortening the course of and preventing diarrhea
  • Preventing plaque formation within the arteries
  • Aiding weight loss and weight management
  • Full of anti-aging properties
  • Good for brain health
  • Helping with bowel inflammation
  • Fighting vaccine-induced toxicity
  • Helping with periodontal disease
  • Preventing hair loss
  • Helping with staphylococcal infections
  • Helping with influenza infections
  • Reducing your risk of stroke
  • Lowering bad cholesterol
  • Reducing your risk of diabetes
  • Preventing dementia
  • Good for neurological health

Isn’t it unbelievable how many benefits this simple, easily available fruit has on your health? Next time you eat an apple, don’t just chow it don’t, but also think about all the benefits it’s offering your body – it will only become that much more delicious!

Ideas for including apples in your diet:

  • Eat them as is for a snack or on-the-go
  • Use them in fruit salads and regular salads
  • Cut them up and sprinkle some cinnamon and perhaps some honey on top for a crunchy dessert or snack
  • Add an apple to your green juice or green smoothie
  • Make ginger-apple shots by juicing half an apple with a big knob of ginger
  • Use them in raw Desserts

Try an apple mono-diet!

Apples are so powerful and cleansing that if you haven’t tried it, come the new year, maybe consider trying an apple mono-diet. It’s not a fast, it is a feast!

How it works is you basically use organic apples – full of benefits – for everything. For breakfast, eat 1 – 2 pounds of apples. For lunch, eat another 1 – 2 pounds of apples. For dinner, eat another 1 – 2 pounds of apples. For snacks or whenever you feel hungry, just eat one or more apples.

You can do this for 1 day, a weekend or even 1-2 weeks. You won’t be hungry, because apples can be very filling. After even a day or two of apple-cleansing, you can find yourself feeling liberated, renewed and refreshed. I’m not joking, you need to try this!

How many apples have you eaten today? What is your favorite kind of apple (mine are Zestar, Granny Smith, Gala and Pink Lady)? Share with us in the comments below!
