Why It’s Crucial To Treat Your Body With Compassion

mindset, mindfulness, positivity

Have you ever felt as though your body is working against you?

Perhaps, despite getting proper exercise and nurturing a healthy diet, you aren’t seeing the results you desire and feel like you deserve it. It’s a stressful experience.

It’s natural to want to blame something.

Many people project their frustrations onto their own bodies. They engage in:

  • Predictions of future failure (I’ll never get the body I want; why do I bother eating healthy?)
  • Comparisons (She is in amazing shape and eats junk food! Why not me?)

These critiques are opponents of progress. Let’s get rid of them!

Here’s the key thing: your body is never the problem. It has (literally) always got your back!

If your body is performing below your expectations, it’s a sign that it’s facing some kind of obstacle. Your body is sending you a signal that there is work to be done if you want to feel your best.

Perhaps you feel sluggish, have poor digestion, suffer from brain fog or don’t lose weight no matter how hard you try. This isn’t your body trying to sabotage you.

Your body is doing the best it can to keep you functioning despite some kind of problem it’s facing.

The underlying problem could exist in the form of:

  • Adrenal fatigue
  • Thyroid disease
  • Bacterial overgrowth
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Parasitic infection
  • Too much stress

Or various other issues that produce these kinds of (common!) symptoms.

Instead of resorting to negative self-talk, treat your body with compassion. It is your greatest ally on this journey and has the same goal that you do: to feel and perform at your best.

It’s OKAY and very natural to have those times of frustration when you look in the mirror and don’t see the results you think you deserve. Go ahead and let it out. Wallow and get angry for a moment. But make it just a moment.

Then acknowledge that a deeper issue exists, accept it and commit to change.

1. Acknowledge that your body is struggling somehow.

2. Accept that you have some problem-solving to do.

3. Hypothesize solutions.

4. Strive for change. Do your research, try new things and/or seek professional help.

5. Keep it up. Persevere past obstacles and keep striving for optimal health.

Whatever your disadvantage, one thing is surely true: working to overcome the problem will build your character in ways you can’t even imagine.

It could unfold new passions (such as an interest in health and wellness), release new energy levels, or prompt more positive mindsets (understanding why you feel a certain way is incredibly powerful).

You’ve got this. You deserve to feel your best each and every day.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
