4 Reasons Why You Should Ditch Your Makeup For The Natural Look

Many women wear makeup, most on a daily basis. Myself, I ditched wearing makeup a few years ago.

It’s not that I’m lazy, it’s because I work from home and feel like I just don’t need it anymore. The main reason though: I hate how it makes my skin feel.

Maybe I’m wearing the wrong brand or type. Who knows. All I know is that it makes my skin feel oily and if I don’t remove the makeup that same night, it does horrible things to my skin.

So for the past few years, I’ve been rocking the natural look.

And to those of you who do like to wear makeup, I mean no disrespect or harm in what I’m about to tell you. It’s your skin and your choice to do as you will. But there ARE logical reasons why you shouldn’t wear makeup.

Reasons Why You Should Ditch The Makeup

1. You’ll Save Money

I’m all about saving money! According to Allure, a survey that was done by SkinStore found that women spend about $300,000 on their face alone in their entire lifetime.

Depending on where you live, makeup products can cost between $8 and $11 per product! And we women have more than just one makeup product that we use at a time. It adds up pretty fast!

2. You’ll Save Time

Not only will you save yourself a lot of money in the long run, but you will also save yourself time too! If you’re a busy working mom like I am, you don’t have a lot of time to apply makeup. It usually takes the average woman 30 minutes to an hour to put on makeup.

Cutting out makeup time can save you that extra hour to do something a little more important!

3. They Contain Toxins

You may not realize it, but many of the makeup products that are used today are toxic to your skin and your body. Just a few of the commonly used chemicals in makeup include oxybenzone, which can cause allergic reactions, octinoxate, which can cause brain and thyroid problems and mercury, which can cause damage to your brain and nerve functions.

Just think about it: after applying these chemicals to your face day after day, what could they actually be doing to your body?

4. Your Skin Will Improve (And Thank You!)

Everyone dreams of having blemish free skin. However, covering your skin in layers of makeup won’t do the trick. In fact, applying makeup to your skin allows the makeup to seep into your pores and cause them to become enlarged, which leads to blemishes and acne.

If these are reasons why you should ditch the makeup and go for the natural look, I don’t know what is! I certainly don’t want toxins creeping into my body from makeup!
