“Is that lemon?” “Mmm, tastes like honey?” “Apples?” – This is how morning kisses go in our household ever since I ditched my face wash. My husband gets a kick out of guessing the flavor of the day.

I was never much into products, but I did spend a fair amount on face washes and scrubs, until I discovered that it was possible to make my own using simple ingredients – like food. I love avocado masks, lemon-honey masks and just rubbing fresh fruits on my skin, but my everyday go-to is apple cider vinegar.

Since using ACV on my skin, I’ve noticed less pimples, clearer skin, smaller pores and a generally brighter complexion.

4 Reasons Why You Should Start Using Apple Cider Vinegar On Your Face Too

1. Removes Age Spots

Admittedly, being in my early 30s, this is not something I worry about yet, but it is good to know that ACV helps with this. Its alpha hydroxy content helps remove old and dead skin.

Just dab some ACV on a cotton ball or tissue and apply it to a particular age spot. Leave it there for about 30 minutes, then wash your face. Do this twice a day and soon you should see a difference.

2. Acne Treatment

ACV is fantastic for acne and all kinds of small pimples. It removes excess dirt, harmful bacteria and cleans your pores.

Dilute some ACV with water at a 1:3 (ACV:water) ratio and apply it to your face after you wash it. Use this twice a day as a toner.

3. Toxin Removal

Using commercial products for years, being outside in a polluted city, or touching your face with dirty hands can all lead to toxin build-up on your face. Don’t worry. ACV is a natural diuretic that helps with the excretion of toxin and waste.

Mix it in 1:3 ratio with water and use it as a facewash.

4. Wrinkle Reduction

ACV is full of beta-carotene, an antioxidant that fights free-radicals that can lead to visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles.

Dilute ACV as instructed in the earlier points and apply it directly to your wrinkles with a cotton ball. In a matter of weeks your skin will look smoother, brighter and younger.

Caution: If you have sensitive skin, first apply the ACV mixture to a small area of your skin to make sure it doesn’t burn or irritate you otherwise. If it seems to irritate your skin, add more water and dilute it more.
Have you tried ACV on your face? Have you ever made your own face wash or facemask? If yes, share your recipes, tips and experiences below. As always, we would love to learn from you.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
