What She Wants From Him | 10 Ways To Be a Real Man – Mindset Monday

“Man is made or unmade by himself. By the right choice he ascends. As a being of power, intelligence, and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, he holds the key to every situation.” – James Allen

We have all been there, right? The fighting, the misunderstandings, the poor communication, the confusion, the lack of security and love with that person we care about.

Why does this happen?

When we care about someone – shouldn’t we be listening more, doing things to make them happy, showing up as our best self every single day?

Sounds simple, and it can be. But the truth is, sometimes our ego gets in the way and we revert to the selfish behavior we had when we were single.

But that NEVER works!

Ever read one of those cheesy articles about how to be a real man?

To be a man, you’ve got to figure out how to stand in your power with courage, strength and confidence. But you also need to remember to address some of that feminine energy to make your woman feel special, loved and respected.

It can be a tough balance, especially if you were taught to be ultra ALPHA or maybe on the opposite side of the spectrum.

Being a MAN that your partner will be proud of is more than big muscles, facial hair and basic chivalry.

You want to be the man of her dreams? The way to do so might be different than you think.

#1 Celebrate Her Victories

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” – Maya Angelou

Her victories might look much different than yours, but they are magnificent just the same. Be the first to break out a bottle of wine when she accomplishes something big to her.

#2 Be Vulnerable

“Being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure.” – Bob Marley

By opening up, you are practicing courage. A coward tries to hide his weakness, a real man works his weakness.

#3 Walk On The Outside Of The Sidewalk

“Being male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age, being a gentleman is a matter of choice.” – The Gentleman’s Guide

Simple, but a lot of guys don’t think about this. Walking on the outside of the sidewalk shows her you can keep her safe.

#4 Hear What She Says

“One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.” – Bryant H. McGill

This is more than just listening. Listen to HEAR. Be 100% present when she is talking. This will set you apart.

#5 Create A Space For Her To Be Herself

“A women in the presence of a good man, a real man, loves being a woman. His strength allows her feminine heart to flourish. His pursuit draws out her beauty.” – Stasi Eldredge

One of the most noble roles of a man is to create a safe space for a woman to thrive. A place where she can be 100% herself. A place where her creativity and femininity can flourish.

#6 Thrive On Learning

“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.” – Albert Einstein

Learn to LOVE learning. You don’t have to pretend like you know everything. Be excited when she is telling you about something you know little about.  Have an open mind.

#7 Learn to Redirect Your Anger

“Anger is a momentary madness, so control your passion or it will control you.” – Horace

Learn to transform your anger into masculine compassion. There is nothing wrong with feeling big emotions but learn to express them towards something that can’t be damaged, such as a good workout.

#8 Prioritize Occasional Time With Your Pack

“He who has the weakness of friendship has not the strength.” – Joseph Joubert

As men, we are called to have strength beyond our current capacity.  Because of this constant stretching, we need a pack to rely on and from whom to draw strength. Keep good friends close and stop spending time with those who are only there to party.

#9 Lead with Love

“To the degree you experience a love deficit, you will also manifest a leadership deficit.” – Unknown

I know this may sound mushy, but as men we are supposed to lead with love and compassion.  Some of the manliest men I personally look up to do this with their significant others in their life.

#10 Own Your Mistakes and Learn to Forgive Yourself

“In order to heal we must first forgive… and sometimes the person we must forgive is ourselves.” – Mila Bron

This is perhaps the biggest one of all. A wise man once told me it’s not about how many times you fall, it’s about how many times you learn to pick yourself up.

In the end, remember that you are a real human being. Be real. Be raw. Make mistakes. Live with your heart open and your back straight. The woman of your dreams will love you for YOU – not for the man you are pretending to be. Who you are is powerful. Show it to yourself, to her and the world.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
