Using Food As Medicine

If you have been reading my articles, I want to first humbly thank for honoring me with your time and allowing me to share some of the best things my health and wellness journey has taught me.
You have become aware that I have had some ailments since I was a young girl, you have come to learn some of my grandmother’s natural remedies and my mother’s wise words. Today will probably come as no surprise when I tell you that food is medicine.
At Fitlife, not only do we believe that food is medicine, but we also are committed to using it as such.
Ever since I became a certified coach, I find myself listening to conversations in the grocery store, library, or anywhere I may be and unconsciously offer advice to people with ailments I am familiar with. I also find myself taking mental notes when I come across things I may not know so that I can go research.
We encourage our clients to eat whole foods for their health, believing that these foods are the right nutrients to allow the body to naturally correct any health issues and optimize functioning and maintain ideal weight, longevity and health.
During the 90 day-transformation process, we focus on four basic principles:
1. It Is important To Eat With Your Genetic Programming
While we understand that not all of our clients can go out and get a full medical work up to help them understand what foods work well and what foods don’t, we do ask that for the 90 days during the program that they do remove all inflammatory foods (i.e. sugar, gluten, soy and dairy). Along with the inflammatory foods, we also encourage our clients to focus on eating less processed foods as well.
2. Use Nutrition From Foods To Treat And Prevent Illness
Whole foods are dense in minerals and nutrients that work synergistically to not only heal the body, but to also keep it running like the amazing piece of tech it is. For this reason, we encourage eating whole foods that provide antioxidants, minerals and nutrients that help keep alkalinity and your body lean, clean and super healthy.
3. Understanding That We Are All So Unique
And for this reason, you and your coach will come up with a strategic system that is tailored just for you. And while we would love to continue coaching your even after your 90 days, this system is created so that you as the client can continue to use the methods you master after the program.
4. Always Keep Learning
Learning more is one of our core beliefs at Fitlife. We meet every Monday to share what we have learned so that we can be more helpful to you as our clients. Drawing from personal experience and the experiences of others, our program keeps evolving, while still being center in the idea that food is medicine.
We believe that when we take in whole foods, you are providing your body the best chance of resetting, recalibrating and recharging. There is nothing that comes close to the miracles that whole foods can provide to the body. This is why we strongly believe and advocate turning to food as a medicinal resource.
I challenge you today to remove at least one inflammatory food from your diet for 90-days and document how you feel; you won’t regret it.
