Health Benefits Of These Ingredients:
Bananas are excellent sources of potassium and magnesium, both of which help in relaxing your muscles. They also contain amino acids called tryptophan. Tryptophan converts into serotonin and melatonin, the two hormones your body needs in order to sleep. Magnesium helps to calm your mind and relax your muscles, making it easier to fall asleep.
Cherries are a natural source of melatonin. Drinking tart cherry juice or eating a handful of cherries before bed can help with chronic insomnia.
Mangoes are also loaded with tryptophan, which your body uses to create vitamin B3 and serotonin. Serotonin is what your body needs to help regulate sleep.
Coconut milk dairy-free yogurt and, if you choose to use coconut milk, have their own beneficial properties because of the coconut. Coconuts have anti-fungal properties that can calm candida as well as the bone-building calcium that your body needs.
Almond milk, if you choose to use this instead, is rich in vitamins and antioxidants that increase the performance of your immune system. Almond milk is also a great source of vitamin A, which is important for your eyesight and skin, as well as vitamin D, which is needed to help build strong bones and teeth.
The next time you are ready for some shut-eye, but you are not totally relaxed, try making this smoothie. Every ingredient that goes into it has wonderful properties that not only benefit your body, but can also help you to relax so that you can get the good night’s sleep that you need.
