Juicing Could Be The Health Boost You Need
By Brandi Monasco
Juicing is the extraction of fresh juice from fruits and vegetables, resulting in a liquid (juice) that is rich in nutrients, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that are found in the juiced foods.
Juicing is typically done using a juicer, a machine that is specialized in extracting juices from fruits and vegetables. People tend to confuse a juicer with a blender. Let me explain: a juicer extracts juices from fruits and vegetables, leaving behind the pulp, while a blender pulverizes fruits and vegetables to make a smoothie.
When juicing, fiber components of fruits and vegetables may be lost during the juicing process. This streamlines the process of your digestive system and allows it to rest from working on fiber components, therefore, allowing the juices to be absorbed faster and easier by your body.
Many people tend to enjoy fruit juices more than eating raw fruit. Juicing can be a good option for those who don’t enjoy having raw fruits.
Benefits Of Juicing
1. Juicing Makes You Consume More Fruits And Vegetables
When you make juicing a part of your ordinary life, you eat more fruits and vegetables than you would if you were to eat them in their whole form. With juicing, accomplishing the daily recommended amount of fruits and vegetables is less demanding. Juicing takes the majority of the supplements in fruits and vegetables and offers an easier way to consume them.
2. Juices Are Easier To Digest
Getting the nutritional value of fruits and vegetables in liquid form makes it easier for digestion and absorption. Juicing is a way of skipping chewing, which is the first step of digestion. You may not always chew your food well, which can lead to indigestion. In juicing, fruits and vegetables reach the digestive system in a more digestible form.
3. Detoxifies Your Body
Detoxification involves the removal of toxic waste from the body. This requires a lot of nutrients and juicing is a popular way to get those nutrients. Juice from fruits and vegetables helps in cleansing your key organs such as the liver, keeping you healthy.
4. Keeps Our Body Hydrated
Juicing fruits and vegetables extracts the water that is in them. With juicing, your body gets a lot of water alongside vitamins and minerals. Sometimes you may find it hard to drink the recommended amount of water throughout the day, maybe because of how it tastes or forgetting. Juicing can be an exciting way to help hydrate your body.
5. Helps Your Body To Stay Alkaline
Juicing makes you consume more alkaline products in order to keep your body in its alkalinity state. For higher benefits of alkalinity from juicing, it is recommended that you incorporate plenty of leafy green vegetables such as kale and spinach. They are typically the most alkaline foods available.
Depending on the type of products you choose while juicing, you will get so many benefits from it. For example, if you have a juice comprising of kale, beets, ginger and coconut water, you will be boosting your brainpower.
Antioxidant compounds in fruits and vegetables combined with energy and vitamins are the best things you can have when juicing. You can be free from toxic wastes in your body and you can prevent yourself from getting diseases. Overall, juicing has more benefits than demerits; some juicing recipes are proven to prevent breast cancer and heart diseases!
