Top Reasons To Eat More Pistachios

Pretty much everyone is aware of how nutritious and beneficial nuts are for your body. Not only do they make a great addition to recipes, but they also make a great snack that can fill you up for hours.

Along with almonds, pistachios are one of the oldest nuts that are used around the world. In fact, they’re so old that they are mentioned in the Bible. They even go back to being introduced to the Romans in 100 AD.

Pistachios are actually considered to be a fruit, but once the outer shell is removed, the seed kernel inside is edible. And those edible seeds pack a lot of benefits that you may not know about!

They Have Anti-Inflammatory Properties. Pistachios are loaded with numerous nutrients and vitamins that your body needs. Vitamins A and E are just two of those vitamins. Pistachios also contain anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation in your body and therefore reduce pain.

They Are Heart Healthy. Many nuts are good for your heart, but pistachios contain numerous nutrients that make your heart healthy. They also contain good fats and plant-based compounds that act as antioxidants. Studies have shown that consuming pistachios can help to lower your levels of “bad” cholesterol as well as maintain levels of healthy cholesterol.

They Improve Your Blood. Pistachios contain vitamin B6, which is an essential protein that helps to carry oxygen in your blood.

They Help With Iron Absorption. Pistachios contain copper, which is needed for proper absorption of iron from food sources. Having additional iron in your blood helps with the transportation of oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body. Adequate levels of iron means less chance of having anemia.

They Boost Your Immunity. The vitamin B6, which helps improve your blood, also helps to boost your immune system. By producing more blood and providing a better supply of blood, your immune system becomes stronger. Pistachios also help to make your glands such as the thymus and spleen become healthier and work more efficiently.

Pistachios are really easy to find. They come in a variety of forms such as shelled or unshelled and even sweetened or salted. And it is very easy to incorporate them into your diet as well. Just eat a handful of pistachios for a healthy snack.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
