Top Principles For Staying Healthy, Essential For Everyone

Written by: Brandi Monasco

It is important to make sure your health is in tip top shape and that you stay healthy. There are a variety of ways to make sure that your health is at optimal level and to prevent yourself from becoming sick. Unfortunately, everyone’s body is made up differently, so while one thing works for your friend, it may not work for you.

While this may be true, there are a few core principles that you can follow to ensure you stay healthy.

1. Drink 6 To 8 Glasses Of Water Each Day. About two-thirds of your body is made up of water, which is roughly 65% of your body. In fact, water is such a vital component to your body, that it is more important than food!

Drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water each day does so many great things for your body.

  1. Water helps to flush out toxins from your body, which can leave your skin clear and possibly even glowing.
  2. Constipation will no longer be an issue. Water helps to get things “moving.”

  3. You will find that controlling your weight is easier and you will feel less full. And because you will feel less full, you will also see a drop in your weight.
  4. Water is a solvent, which means that it aids in ridding your bloodstream of excess fat, which can help reduce your cholesterol levels.
  5. Not drinking enough water can also cause kidney stones. When you do not drink an adequate amount of water, the salts, minerals and other substances that are found in urine can become stuck together, causing a kidney stone.

2. Eat Whole Foods. Eating healthy and whole foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables is one of the keys to staying healthy and keeping illnesses at bay.  Eating less refined and processed foods and opting for more healthy wholesome foods can also help lower your risk of cancer. With whole foods, you get more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids that your body needs to function.

Here is a list of whole foods ideas to get you started:

  • Whole grains and legumes
    • Barley, oats, quinoa and rice
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Healthy oils
    • Walnut oil
    • Canola oil
    • Sunflower oil
  • Meats, poultry and other foods that contain protein
    • Eggs
    • Grass fed livestock
  • Fish
    • Salmon
    • Tuna
    • Flounder
    • Sardines
  • Nuts and seeds
    • Walnuts
    • Almonds

3. Get Moving! Exercise is optimal to stay healthy. Exercising on a daily basis enhances your circulation, which is not only good for heart health, but also for the rest of your organs. You will also begin to notice that your moods have changed, leaving you feeling more energetic as well as sleeping better at night. Taking a 30 minute walk 5 days a week is all you need to do!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
