Top Essential Oils To Help You With Stress

Written by: Brandi Monasco

Stress is inevitable. It is something that every person deals with from time to time, whether it is due to your job, home life, family, or whatever the cause may be. Life is full of demands and frustrations and sometimes it is just plain hard to deal with it all.

Being constantly stressed out can eventually damage your health, whether you realize it or not. It can also start to affect your mood as well as your quality of life. You may start having frequent headaches, trouble sleeping, gaining weight and later on in life, your chances for having a heart attack increases.

What some people may not realize is how effective essential oils are when it comes to relieving your stress. Many oils have properties that can help relax your mind as well as your body. Here are a few of those essential oils that can help you with stress.

  • Vanilla: The scent of vanilla reminds a lot of people of home baked goodies, such as cookies and other treats. The vanilla scent is warm and inviting and can make you feel relaxed inside. To use vanilla essential oil to relax, simply drop a few drops of the oil into a warm bath, or you can dilute the oil with a carrier oil and rub onto your temples and the back of your neck for a quick relaxing feeling.
  • Lavender: Lavender is widely known and very popular for being one of the many oils that can help relieve stress. It is also used to enhance your short-term memory as well as relief from anxiety and nervousness. Lavender is probably the best essential oil to use just to simply relax. To use lavender essential oil, dilute a few drops of oil with a carrier oil and rub the mixture on your temples. You can also add a few drops of lavender essential oil to your bath.
  • Chamomile: Many people like to drink chamomile tea to relax and to help promote a better night’s sleep. Chamomile essential oil also does the same thing along with helping reduce anxiety symptoms. Chamomile essential oil can be used the same way as other oils; by being diffused in a diffuser or by being added to your warm bath.
  • Frankincense: Frankincense carries many medicinal properties, but one of those properties is the ability to act as a sedative to help calm stress, anger and anxiety.

One of the best ways to use frankincense to promote calmness is to apply it to the skin, diluted of course, or to simply breathe it in from the bottle.

Other than adding essential oils to your bath, there are a few other ways that you can use these essential oils to promote relaxation and calmness. They can be diffused in your favorite diffuser, used in a warm compress, or applied to a pillow that you will be sleeping on. Always take note that when you intend to apply the essential oil to your skin to always dilute the oil with a carrier oil before applying.

What are your favorite ways to use essential oils? Do you know of any others that can help with relaxing that didn’t make it onto this list? Please share with us in the comments below!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
