That was the statement I read in a health book that made me totally quit drinking cow’s milk.

As an alternative, I would occasionally use soy milk – thinking that it was a much healthier option.

But, as with most “healthy” items that are marketed to you, once you dig a little deeper, you can uncover the shocking truth.

The “thing” that you THOUGHT was healthy is actually lurking with hidden dangers, chemicals and negative side effects. Soy milk is one of those items you need to avoid.

First, let’s take a look at what is IN soy milk:

  • Filtered water
  • Whole soybeans
  • Cane sugar
  • Sea salt
  • Carrageenan
    • Not digestible and has no nutritional value
    • Can cause gastrointestinal inflammation, ulcers, lesions and colon cancer
    • Linked to insulin resistance and glucose intolerance
  • Natural Flavor
  • Calcium Carbonate
  • Vitamin A Palmitate
  • Vitamin D2
  • Riboflavin (B2)
  • Vitamin B12

 

Now, it’s time to take a good look at 10 shocking reasons you need to AVOID soy milk from now on:

1. Soybeans have enormous amounts of natural toxins (anti nutrients), which can interfere with the absorption of minerals in your body.  

2. Soy milk has the ability to suppress hormones associated with ovulation and can change a woman’s menstrual cycle  – ONLY two glasses daily can significantly have an effect.

3. More than 90% of soy is genetically modified and is highly contaminated with pesticides. This means you are consuming numerous chemicals with each sip of soy milk you take!

4. Soy products contain elevated levels of phytic acid. As a result, it obstructs the body’s ability to take in calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc.

5. Soy has plant estrogens (phytoestrogens), which interfere with your endocrine function. Your endocrine system produces hormones that regulate metabolism, mood, sleep and reproduction. This disruption can lead to infertility and breast cancer in women.

6. Soy contains toxic isoflavones and also acts as estrogen in your body. This can stimulate breast cancer growth in women already diagnosed with breast cancer (particularly the isoflavones genistein and daidzein).

7. Soy proteins are fragile. During processing, they are exposed to extreme high temperatures to produce soy protein isolate and vegetable protein. This processing makes the soy proteins become threatening to your health if consumed.

8. Soy foods have toxic levels of aluminum, which has a negative impact on your nervous system and kidney function. Soy foods have also been connected to the onset of Alzheimer’s.

9. Consuming soy products can lead to developing a B12 deficiency, because soy contains a compound similar to B12 that the body is unable to process.

10. Soybeans contain the clot-promoting substance haemagglutinin, which causes your red blood cells to clump and impedes blood flow.
