What Happens To Your Liver And Your Brain When You Drink Boiled Turmeric Water

What is that yellow thing you are drinking? – my friend asked me the other day.
I nearly screamed as I was so excited to talk about my favorite superspice again: turmeric.
If you’ve had curry, you’ve had turmeric. It has also gained popularity in recent years in the form of golden milk.
Turmeric is an ancient spice that has been used for its medicinal properties for THOUSANDS of years in Asia, in particularly in Ayurvedic medicine. Finally, it is gaining worldwide attention, becoming a top superfood.
No wonder that not only the natural health world, but also the mainstream have been raving about it. Turmeric is a powerful and versatile golden root that is a potent antioxidant and anti-carcinogenic agent that’s rich in fiber, magnesium, potassium, manganese, iron, vitamin B6 and C and is best known for it’s inflammation reducing properties. It’s good for your digestive system, liver and brain health. There are stacks of scientific research proving all the goodness it can do for your body.
How To Use Turmeric?
You can take turmeric in a supplement form, but it’s so good that you want to use it in your kitchen too. Add it to curries, Indian and Asian inspired dishes, golden milk, smoothies, dips, dressings and baked goods. Get creative!
One of my new favorite ways to take turmeric is by making turmeric water. It is so good for your body. Give it a try!
Turmeric Water Recipe
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- Pinch of black pepper
- 2 cups of water
- Boil the water in a pot.
- Add your turmeric and black pepper.
- Boil for 10 more minutes.
- Remove from the stove and let it tool.
- Once it’s cool enough, put it in the fridge to cool it more.
- Drink it cold. Add ice cubes if you wish.
