The Most Simple Vegan Teriyaki Chik’n Veggie Pizza

How about a movie and a pizza? Seriously, let’s cozy up, grab a slice and turn on the screen.

Wait a minute… Is this a trick? Do I want to fatten you up with some junk food?

Of course NOT. I am talking about a super healthy and gluten-free vegan pizza. You can make it at home with a few ingredients. It is simple and ready in less than half an hour.

It is literally the best homemade pizza you will ever have. Why? Once you read about the ingredients, you will see why. This recipe really is so unique.

The Powerful Benefits Of Vegan, GF Teriyaki Chik’n Veggie Pizza  

Forget about the cauliflower crust. Use buckwheat and Japanese sweet potato instead. Buckwheat is a warming pseudo grain that is great for your digestion, may help diabetes and is satisfying and non-allergenic. Japanese sweet potato is a low-calorie, satisfying and energizing food that is great for your digestion and is filled with vitamin C.

The array of spices also make this pizza unique. Paprika is great for your skin and hair, while garlic is an excellent anti-inflammatory food with powerful benefits for your heart and brain. You can also add some turmeric, ginger or black pepper for more anti-inflammatory and remedying benefits.

It’s not just the crust that’s special about this pizza, but the sauce too. It is so simple, yet it wakes up your taste buds with the soyaki sauce and the tahini. Tahini is a great protein and healthy fat source that is good for you skin, brain, digestion, reducing inflammation and healthy cell growth and is filled with vitamin E and B and calcium.

Spiced with ginger, sesame and garlic, the soyaki or teriyaki sauce provides an Asian flavor to your pizza. It’s good to experiment with flavors, trust me.

Topped with vegetables of your choice, your body will thank you for a large variety of vitamins and minerals with remedying properties and nourishment. If you are adding vegan chik’n nuggets, tofu or chicken (optional), you are adding extra protein for muscle strength, texture and warming satisfaction. The chives and sesame on top are not only there to garnish, but also to add extra texture and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Vegan, GF Teriyaki Chik'n Veggie Pizza
  • Crust:
  • 1 cup white buckwheat flour
  • 1 medium Japanese sweet potato, peeled and steamed
  • ½ cup of water (or more if needed)
  • A pinch (or as your tastebuds desire): garlic and paprika(optional spices: black pepper, salt,turmeric, ginger powder)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Sauce:
  • 3 tbsp soyakior vegan teriyaki sauce
  • 3 tsp tahini
  • Toppings:
  • Steamed vegetables of your choice, stripped or cut into chunks, eg. broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, green beans and asparagus
  • Raw vegetables of your choices, stripped or cut into chunks, eg. bell pepper, carrots, zucchini
  • 2 cooked vegan chik’n nuggets or strips (for GF pizza, read the ingredients) or baked tofu (optional)
  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onion or chives
  1. Add your crust ingredients to a blender. Blend well.
  2. Spread it on a baking sheet layered with parchment paper.
  3. Bake it at 430 degrees F for 10 minutes.
  4. If you are using pre-made vegan chik’n nuggets, bake or microwave them. If you are using baked tofu, prepare them as you wish unless it’s prebaked (if you are not vegan, feel free to add baked chicken strips).
  5. Add your sauce ingredients into a bowl and whisk well.
  6. Spread ⅔ of your sauce on the crust you’ve baked for 10 minutes.
  7. Add your vegetable toppings.
  8. Add your vegan chik’n nuggets/strips or tofu (or chicken for non-vegan pizzas), optional.
  9. Add the remaining of the sauce on top.
  10. Add some sesame seeds or chives on top.
  11. Bake for another 12-15 minutes at 430 degrees F.
  12. Slice and eat.
