The Most Effective Way To Boost Self Confidence – Mindset Monday

“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.” – Stephen R. Covey

Today, I want to give you a tool to boost your self confidence, have more freedom and create the most effective life for yourself.

How do you do this? It’s simple, really. Though you might not like it at first!

The secret is this: let go of the need to be right.

When you have a conversations or interaction with someone who doesn’t agree with you, when a controversial topic comes up, when your mother-in-law is trying to tell you how to raise your kids or choose your career

You’ve got to let go.

It may not always be what you WANT to do, but trust me, this concept can completely change the way your life goes. Letting go of the constant need to be right will boost your self confidence and make you a more powerful and effective both personally and professionally.

self confidence, ego, right

It’s going to help you get along with people that you normally struggle with. It’s going to leave the door open in your mind to new possibilities and opportunities that you may not have considered before.

Now I’m not saying you have to AGREE or BELIEVE everything someone says to you. I’m just saying that you don’t have to be right about everything!

Isn’t that kind of a relief?

Here are 3 ways to set yourself up for success by letting go of the need to be right:

#1 Give Yourself Permission

“Let go of your ego’s need to be right. When you’re in the middle of an argument, ask yourself: Do I want to be right or be happy? When you choose the joyous, loving, spiritual mode, your connection to intention is strengthened.”  – Wayne Dyer

Give yourself permission to be wrong. Consciously telling yourself that you don’t need to be right is a powerful step towards re-programing how you think and react.

In the heat of the moment, this can be tricky. So if you know you are going to be in a situation where voices are loud and opinions are hot, walk in with the intent to keep a cool head. Remind yourself that you can let go of the need to be right in the coming situations and that you’ll be stronger for it.

#2 Validate Yourself

“Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.” – Unknown

self confidence, ego, right

Most people want to be right because they subconsciously believe that being right will increase their value.

Realize that your worth DOES NOT depend on how much you know, how good you can argue or how many times in a day you are right.

On the contrary, actually. I feel more respect for people who will LISTEN to an opposing opinion and actually consider it than I do for someone who is just listening so they can form an argument.

#3 Ask Yourself, “What If I’m Wrong?”

“Leadership does not depend on being right.” – Ivan Illich

How bad is it really, to be wrong? What would it mean if you were?

Sometimes being wrong has a heavy consequence, but most of the time, being wrong is just… a fact of life! It may even be an opportunity for improvement, new understanding, a broader perspective or a chance to show someone else respect for being right.

Being wrong can be a great thing. Stop seeing it as something negative!

When you’re open to being wrong, you literally open your mind to new possibility.

Also, when you are open to hearing someone else’s view, you are much more likely to gain their respect.

Being wrong is absolutely okay! In fact, it could even be a GOOD THING.

self confidence, ego, right

There’s a saying that goes something like this… “those that think they know everything know nothing and those who admit they know nothing, have everything to gain.”

I want to encourage you to release the EGO and invite possibility into your life. Ask questions. Engage in friendly debates. Learn. Grow. And continue to expand your mind.

You were not put on this earth to play small. NOW is your time to RISE.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
