Sometimes I just want chocolate for breakfast.

There, I said it.

But seriously. Don’t you ever feel this way? It is awesome to eat healthy and have smoothies, green juice, fruit salads, or whatever healthy things for breakfast. But still, sometimes a girl just wants some chocolate!

What if I told you that you can have your chocolate and your healthy breakfast all in one?

I’ve caught your attention, haven’t I?

Smoothies are a superb breakfast option because they are easy to digest, yet keep you full due to the extra fiber.

This chocoholic smoothie is full of goodies with its top 3 magical ingredients – banana, cacao and almond butter – keeping you happy and healthy.

Bananas are naturally sweet, keeping you away from candy. They are an excellent source of potassium, vitamin B6 and C, magnesium and copper. They do wonders for your digestion and heart health.

Cacao is one of the best superfoods out there. It is extremely high in antioxidants – 40 times higher than blueberries. Cacao is a wonderful source of magnesium, calcium and iron. They are natural mood boosters and helpful with relieving depression.

Almond butter is a fantastic and healthier alternative to peanut butter. It is a healthy fat and the fiber helps keep you satisfied longer. Almond butter is also good for your cardiovascular system and keeps your cholesterol levels in check. It is also a good source of vitamin E and magnesium.

The Healthiest Chocoholic Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • ½ cup ice (optional)
  • ½ cup coconut milk or almond milk
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds 

Toppings (any or all of the following):

  • Strawberries, sliced
  • Blackberries
  • Raspberries
  • Shredded coconut or coconut flakes
  • Slivered almonds
  • Dried figs
  • Dates
  • Granola 

Instructions: Blend ingredients in your blender. Top with your chosen toppings. Eat it.
