“The whole world opened to me when I learned to read.”
– Mary Mcleod Bethune
One of my favorite things to do is sit down with a glass of green juice and a good book.
I love reading just as much as I love juicing. Fuel for the mind, body and soul.
Reading has always been a huge part of my life. It is something that has impacted me deeply and influenced who I’ve become as a person today as well as who I will be tomorrow.
I read A LOT. Usually 2-3 books every single week.
There was one time in my life where I was absolutely broke. I had $71 in my bank account at the time and I found a book that I REALLY wanted that cost $20. I remember pulling out the money to pay for this book even though I didn’t know how I was going to replenish the funds.
But I trusted.I had faith that God would always deliver. The book was worth it to me.
No matter how much money you have or how broke you are, you will either be a reader or you won’t.
Nothing excites me more than when I meet someone for the first time and I ask them “What are you reading?” and they respond with something I’ve either read, or something to add to my running list.
When somebody is a reader like I am, that is the most attractive thing in the world.
“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on treasure island.”
– Walt Disney
Reading is something that I think EVERYONE should be doing EVERY SINGLE DAY.
I find that when I read, I evolve as a person. My perceptions and beliefs change and shift. I become a larger version of what I once was.
When I read, whether about Walt Disney or Steve Jobs or some of the greatest thinkers on the planet, it allows me to see a little piece of who they are. You can take someone’s whole life and condense it down into one book. At least most of the worthwhile parts – good and not so good.
“Reading is a way for me to expand my mind, open my
eyes and fill up my heart.”
The point of this video and blog post is to help you think a little bit about who you are and what you could do regularly to add value and depth to your life.
I would highly recommend becoming an avid reader if you’re not already. You don’t have to read as many books as I do, but I believe that getting through one good book each month will do wonders for you and your growth and development as a human being.
Commit to an hour a night, or get something like audible and listen while you’re doing chores around the house or driving. It’s a great use of your time!
I promise that as you begin to read, your desire to read more will build into a ferocious appetite. You won’t be able to get enough.
If you ever come over to my house, remind me of my promise to give you one of my books. I love sharing my passion for expansion with others. Books hold a special place in my heart, as do you.
“I cannot live without books.”
Even if you decide that reading isn’t for you, commit to doing something that will improve the overall balance of your life.
It could be writing in a journal.
Spending more time outdoors.
Learning how to meditate.
Picking up a new artistic skill.
Whatever it is…make space for it in your life. Choose to add more value to your everyday and you will look back on a life without regrets and with a great story to tell.

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
