The Green Smoothie That Will Make You A Morning Person

I’m definitely not a morning person. I can’t seem to get out of bed before 8 and then I’m sluggish when I do. Almost like a zombie.

Many people are like this in some ways. We just function differently.

And that’s totally okay! But we all need to remember, whether you are a morning person or not, you need to start your day off with a healthy breakfast. But sometimes, you just don’t have the time because you’re busy getting ready for work or getting the kids off to school.

If you’re one of the many people who doesn’t have time for breakfast, putting together a healthy smoothie is one of the best ways to go!

Sweet, Creamy Green Avocado Smoothie
  • 1 large banana, sliced, frozen
  • 1 large orange, peeled, sectioned
  • 1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled
  • 4 cups torn chard leaves, stems removed
  • 2 cups cold water
  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and simply puree.
  2. Enjoy!

Avocado and bananas mixed together is one of my favorite combos! It’s a sweet and healthy treat. Adding orange and chard just makes the smoothie even healthier!

Bananas are of course cholesterol-free and fat-free and are low in calories, about 110 calories in one banana. They also contain 15% of the daily recommended amount of vitamin C, which your body needs to help boost your immune system, especially during the cold and flu months.

Avocados contain healthy fats and antioxidants, both of which your body needs. The healthy fats are one of the best fats that you can eat. Avocados are also high in calories, but that doesn’t mean that they’re unhealthy for you. In fact, avocados are considered to be superfoods that do wonders for your body!

Oranges are loaded with vitamin C that can help you fight off colds during the colder months. They also help to flush out toxins from your body as well as help boost your immune system.

If you’ve never tried chard before, it has an earthy taste. It’s full of vitamins K, A and C and is also loaded full of iron, potassium, magnesium and dietary fiber, all of which your body needs to function properly.
