What Is Kale?

Kale is often considered the KING of healthy leafy greens because it is one of the most nutrient dense plant foods on the planet.

It is a member of the cabbage family and is related to cruciferous veggies like cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage and broccoli.

Kale comes in various different types, but the most common type of kale is called curly kale, which has green curly leaves and a hard stem. Other types of kale can have purple leaves that can be either curly or smooth.

How To Make Kale Flakes
 
Ingredients
  • 1 bunch of kale (stems removed)
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 395 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Tear kale leaves into pieces and place on baking tray in a single layer.
  3. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the kale is crunchy and crispy.
  5. Allow kale to cool and then crumble it into small flakes using your hands.
  6. OR use a blender/food processor to break them up.
  7. Store in an airtight container.
  8. Use within a week!
