I spent the month of May traveling around Asia. Lucky me, you may think. You don’t even know. I was spoiled with so many amazing tropical fruits, you wouldn’t believe.
One of these fruits was rambutan, which I originally fell in love with when living in Mexico. Thankfully, you can buy them in the U.S. as well, especially at Asian supermarkets, health food stores, or even at your regular grocery store.
Rambutans are funny little fruits with dark reddish colors and soft, pointed and hairy things on their outside. When you open them up, you will find a soft white ball resembling an eye ball (it is not an eye ball, I promise).
The amazing health benefits of rambutans include:
Rambutans are not only delicious, but are also full of vitamins and help with the absorption of minerals.
They are full of carbohydrates, but also include essential proteins that reduce and prevent bloating.
They increase your energy.
They are incredibly hydrating fruits.
They are abundant in vitamin C and fight free radical damage.
They are an excellent source of gallic acid and therefore, reduce oxidative stress.
They help your kidneys in removing waste, as well as repairing cells in your body.
They can help your weight loss goals by keeping you full and your hunger levels low.
They are hydrating to your skin, keeping it radiant and are great for your hair as well.
As you can see, rambutans are an amazing fruit. If you live in or are traveling around tropical areas, especially in Southeast Asia, rambutan may become your daily staple. If you are living in North America or other non-tropical regions of the world, rambutans may only become a once in awhile treat. However, if you have a chance to try rambutans, I strongly encourage you to do so for their amazing health benefits.

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
