Simple, All-Natural Oatmeal And Lavender Body Wash Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 cups water
  • ¼ cup of oatmeal (you can use rolled or steel cut, whichever you prefer)
  • ¼ cup liquid castile soap
  • 6 to 12 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
  • 2 teaspoons of avocado or jojoba oil
  • You will also need to make sure that you have a foaming soap dispenser.
Instructions
  1. Bring the 3 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Put the oatmeal in a glass bowl and pour the boiling water over the oatmeal. Let it sit for 1 to 2 hours. Strain the water to remove all of the water from the oatmeal. Set the water aside and trash the oats.
  3. In a small bowl on the side, mix the castile soap, essential oil, vitamin E oil and the avocado oil (or jojoba oil) with a whisk until it is all fully mixed together.
  4. Pour the soap and oil mixture into the foaming soap dispenser to fill only about 10 to 15% of the dispenser.
  5. Pour the water you saved from the oatmeal into the soap dispenser until it is nearly full.
  6. Twist the lid back on the top and you are done!

There you have it! Your own homemade, natural oatmeal and lavender body wash!

Oatmeal is already considered as a superfood because of the benefits that it provides to your body. But did you know that it is also great for your skin?

Oatmeal is moisturizing to your skin. The oats are full of healthy fats that lubricate your skin to keep it feeling soft. It is also great for fighting skin dryness. Oatmeal contains molecules known as polysaccharides which leave a protective layer on your skin that prevents flakiness and dryness.

Lavender is not only soothing to the senses, but it is also soothing to your skin as well. It is an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, making it a great oil to use to help acne. It is also beneficial to use if you have eczema. Lavender can also detoxify your skin. The powerful antioxidants found in lavender essential oil help to keep your skin from being damaged by pollutants that you might come into contact with on a daily basis.

Vitamin E is also an antioxidant that is beneficial for your skin. The oil can be used to moisturize and hydrate your skin. Studies have shown that using vitamin E oil also provides your skin protection against UV radiation and other free radicals that you may come into contact with. If you are able to protect your skin from free radicals and UV rays, you can maintain healthy looking, wrinkle-free skin!

Both jojoba and avocado oil are moisturizing and can be used to prevent your skin from drying out. Jojoba oil can be used to help control oily skin by reducing sebum production, which is the cause of oily skin. Using jojoba oil for oily skin can also help control acne. It acts as a deep cleanser and dissolves the sebum deposits within your skin.

Avocado oil has antioxidant properties which are great for helping sun-damaged skin. It also increases collagen production that helps keep your skin plump and young.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
