Recipe For Daily Detox

Many of my coaching clients come to me thinking that cleansing and detox can only occur during a set time frame. However, if you approach everyday living and looking at your food choices as an opportunity to gently and slowly cleanse your body, you may get less detox symptoms and develop lifelong, sustainable change.

Consider for a moment your busy life and the thought of doing a juice fast or raw food cleanse or something else you have read about that is overwhelming to you. You have a daily choice to put cleansing foods into your body instead of continuing to build up the toxins. It will benefit your body. It may take longer for your body to release the toxins, but at least your are learning to shift your thoughts to clean eating, instead of creating a higher toxic load.

Here is a recipe that can help you along the journey of cleaning up your diet.

Detox Salad Recipe
  • Base Ingredients:
  • Mixed greens with arugula, spinach, lettuce, radicchio
  • Sprouts
  • Chopped cucumber
  • Zucchini (spiralized)
  • Shredded carrot
  • Toppers:
  • Raisins
  • Sesame seeds
  • Dressing Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 medjool dates
  • Lime juice - 1 fresh lime squeezed
  • ¼ piece of jalapeno pepper (not seeded)
  • ¼ piece of organic cucumber
  • Fresh ginger - about 2” in length
  • 1-2 tbsp water - to the consistency you desire
  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until thick. Pour over greens and enjoy!
