Night Of The LIVING Green Juice – Halloween Special Saturday Strategy

organifi-web2

What if I told you that people are walking around… DEAD?!?

People are walking around… starving…

For BRAINS!!!!

Okay, okay… they are not starving for brains, BUT they ARE walking around hungry, depleted of LIFE and failing to thrive in and out of their bodies.

What am I talking about, exactly?

Malnutrition. Inability to absorb nutrients. Lack of REAL FOOD to FUEL their bodies for greatness.

Maybe that sounds silly to you. Or maybe you can totally relate! Either way, I’m surrounding this FACT with some halloween fun, but I am also serious about something…

Your body is BEGGING YOU FOR A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT! Inside and out!

Let’s get into it…

Overfed On Calories, Starving For Nutrients

In a nation where we have an overabundance of food, most are surprised to hear that we are having a “cultural food crisis”. Our diets are full of food, but is our food full of nutrition that our body actually needs? And can our bodies support the nutrition that we do get?

Take a look at the Standard American Diet (the SAD diet, if you will):

  • Highly processed foods
  • Refined sugars and grains
  • Canned foods
  • Soft drinks, sodas
  • Alcohol
  • Starchy veggies, like potatoes and corn
  • Some fruit

Whole-body wellness is hugely impacted by what you eat and the standard american diet is alarmingly low on minerals, vitamins, micronutrients and live enzymes. So even though people are eating more and more food, their bodies are still begging for real nutrition.

What Should I Eat?

shutterstock_307626779

I believe that most people care about eating healthy. The problem is, they don’t know how! They’ve been raised to eat and cook a certain way and although eating healthy seems simple, when it actually comes meal time, many people draw a blank. Then their belly starts to rumble. Then they throw in the towel and just eat what they’ve always ate.

It’s a vicious cycle!

So today, I want to teach you what you should be eating – in a very simple format! You can use the following guide to pick ingredients for your meals. If you replace processed foods, refined grains and sugars, starchy foods, conventional meats and soda with the following, you will start to FEEL better, LOOK better and LIVE better than you ever have in your life.

Vegetables

You can eat as many vegetables as you want! In fact, eating more vegetables is one of the easiest and best ways to improve your overall health.

Veggies are loaded with minerals, which are the foundation of good nutrition. Without minerals, all the other nutrients like protein, enzymes and vitamins cannot be digested and utilized properly.

A diet high in vegetables has been linked to:

I could go on, but for the sake of this post, I’m going to stop there. If you want more reasons to pack your diet full of vegetables, just check out this other articles:

Raw Nuts and Seeds

Raw nuts and seeds are extremely nutrient-dense and their fat content comes mostly from heart-healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. They are one of the best healthy snacks to indulge in when you feel hungry between meals or are having junk-food cravings.

All nuts and seeds have benefits (I am not including peanuts because they are technically a legume, not a nut), but there are a few that top the list as far as nutrient-content and potential benefits.

Macadamia nuts have the highest (healthy) fat and lowest carb content of any nut and they contain 58% your daily need of manganese.

Walnuts have over 100% your daily need of plant-based omega-3 fats, which are a potent anti-inflammatory are absolutely vital to optimal health and body function. Studies have found that two handfuls of walnuts a day may help prevent certain cancers, inhibit tumor growth and support brain health. (raw, unsalted to be clear)

Brazil nuts are one of the best sources of selenium found in nature. Selenium is a potent antioxidant-boosting mineral that is important for brain function, a strong immune system and fertility.

Pecans contain 19 vitamins and minerals including magnesium, which is responsible for 300 biochemical reactions in the body including energy production, healthy sleep patterns, enzyme activity and the production of RNA. Magnesium also happens to be one of the top minerals Americans are deficient in.

Pumpkin seeds are one you don’t want to throw away this year after carving your jack-o-lantern! These guys are especially beneficial for men, as they contain high levels of zinc, which is important for prostate health and maintenance of healthy levels of testosterone. They’ve also been shown to improve insulin regulation.

Sunflower seeds are rich in many vitamins and minerals including vitamin E, copper, manganese, selenium and magnesium. They have the highest levels of phytosterols, which are important for a healthy heart and immune system.

Healthy Fats

Fats have been vilified over the past decade by the media and health industry and the cost to our health has been severe at best. The myth that low-fat diets are the key to weight loss and a healthy lifestyle has now been called one of the biggest nutrition lies ever spread.

Studies have proven again and again that saturated fat is NOT linked to heart disease or cardiovascular disease – and a low fat diet has no connection to weight loss.

The truth is, healthy fats are incredibly important for overall health, weight maintenance, brain function, heart function, energy levels and the function of every cell in your body.

Your best sources of healthy fats are:

Avocados, which have been called one of the healthiest fruits you can consume. They are rich in monounsaturated fats, which have been shown to lower bad cholesterol, raise good cholesterol, prevent free radical damage, strengthen the immune system, support healthy young-looking skin and support good ovarian health.

Organic butter from grass-fed cows. Note: I am NOT talking about margarine or any butter-like spread made from vegetable oils. Real, organic butter from grass-fed cows is actually quite good for you! Butter is packed with fat-soluble vitamins and minerals, as well as essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These essential fats are important for good brain development and function and skin health.

Ghee, which is a clarified form of butter (meaning, the milk solids are removed). Unlike normal butter it has a high smoke point, which makes it safe for cooking at high temperatures. Ghee is good for digestion and metabolism because it contains many fat-soluble vitamins. Ghee is also lactose and casein free, which makes it an excellent alternative to butter for those that have allergies or sensitivities to these foods.

Coconut Oil. This is one of the best oils to use for cooking because of its high smoke point. That means you can use it on the stove or in the oven without fear of it going rancid or losing nutritional potency, which happens with most vegetable based oils. Coconut oil is known for its medium-chain fatty acids, which are easy for the body to digest and convert into energy. These fatty acids have also been shown to improve memory, support brain health, support heart health, act as strong anti-inflammatories, reduce symptoms of arthritis and more.

Olive oil. Studies have found that extra virgin olive oil reduces incidence of heart attack and heart disease, improves memory and brain function, protects cells from damage by free-radicals and acts as a strong anti-inflammatory. It is not the best option for cooking because of its low smoke point, but works great for salad dressings and dips.

Fish oil.  High quality fish oil is one of the few supplements I recommend everyone take on a daily basis. Why? Because it is one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids, the type of omegas that are responsible of lowering inflammation in the body. The typical Americans gets WAY too many inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids, but not near enough of the balancing anti-inflammatory omega-3’s. Inflammation has been deemed the root cause of a large portion of the diseases that afflict the world today, including mental disease like depression and anxiety. Omega-fatty acids are considered essential because the body doesn’t produce them on its own; they must be obtained from diet.

Nuts and Seeds. As mentioned above, nuts and seeds are also a great source of healthy fats and have numerous health benefits.

Fruits

Some anatomical research suggest that the human body is made for digesting fruit over any other food. Fruit contains an impressive amount of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and cell-protecting phytochemicals. Fruit consumption has been linked to:

If you were to sit a young child down at a table full of different foods, which ones would they naturally reach for first? Most likely they would pick the high energy, colorful foods like fruits and berries. In his book, “The Detox Miracle Sourcebook” Robert Morse, N.D. says, “The ancient Greeks… ate nothing but fruit, and each generation reached the age of 200 years.”

Organic, Pastured Meats and Eggs

shutterstock_215859100

Organic, grass-fed meats contain healthy essential fats, protein, vitamins and minerals. When compared with conventional beef, grass-fed beef was found to be:

  • Lower in fat
  • Higher in omega-3 fatty acids
  • More balanced in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids
  • Higher in beta-carotene
  • Higher in vitamin E
  • Higher in B-vitamins
  • Higher in the minerals calcium, magnesium and potassium

Not to mention, when you buy organic and pastured you are avoiding meat containing antibiotics, herbicides and pesticides, growth hormones and potentially harmful GMOs.

Eggs from pastured hens (not just cage free or “natural”), were found to have 6 times more vitamin D than ones from hens raised conventionally (in tiny cages). Eggs contain many vitamins, minerals and healthy fats (enough to grow a baby chicken!) and are an excellent source of protein. Consuming eggs in the morning has been linked with better appetite control throughout the day.

Simple Tips For A Healthier Lifestyle

Cook Homemade Meals. This alone can have tremendous benefits for you and your family’s health! When you cook at home, you control the ingredients that go into your food and can modify recipes to add more vegetables and swap unhealthy ingredients for healthy ones.

Add Vegetables To All Your Meals. It is easy to add vegetables to soups, stews, stir-fry’s, casseroles and other dishes without compromising flavor. If you aren’t sure how to add vegetables into a recipe, opt for a side salad or roasted vegetable dish. For a quick side dish you can also heat up frozen vegetables.

Another good idea is to swap starchy, calorie-dense or gluten-containing foods for vegetable alternatives. You’d be surprised how awesome vegetables can taste!

Eat Fermented Foods. If you want to superboost the nutritional benefits of your vegetables, try fermenting. Fermented foods are an incredible source of gut-healing, immune-boosting probiotics. Most cultures include some sort of fermented dish into their diet daily.

JUICE! Ya’ll know I’m crazy about green juice. It has changed my health more than anything else! Fresh green juice is packed with micronutrients that help to fill any holes in your diet. Because of poor farming practices, our soil has become nutritionally depleted. A head of broccoli today isn’t the same as broccoli from even a decade ago. Because of this, even those striving for a healthy diet and lifestyle may be missing out on all the vitamins and minerals that they need to thrive. This is where juicing comes in.

I know that juicing sounds like a lot of work, especially on top of everything else you’ve got going in your life. If you aren’t quite ready to invest in a juicer, don’t worry! I’ve got a great option for you. Organifi Green Juice is a premade superfood powder that only requires you add water! I’ll leave some more info at the end of this blog, including the results of our clinical trials and a special halloween discount to get you started!

Sprouting. Did you know that sprouts can contain up to 30 times MORE nutrient content than home-grown organic veggies? Wow! Sprouts are an overlooked superfood that are a powerhouse of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and especially enzymes. They support digestion, immune system function and cell regeneration as well as protect against disease.

Make Water Your Beverage Of Choice. A lot of unnecessary sugar, harmful ingredients such as artificial dyes and flavoring and tons of excess calories come from beverages people consume each day. Statistics say that on average Americans drink 1 can of soda every single day. With 39 grams of sugar a can, that’s an extra 14 THOUSAND grams of sugar each year! And if you think you’re doing yourself a favor by choosing the diet varieties, just read this article on the harmful effects of diet soda (including weight gain). Opt for water which will keep you hydrated and functioning optimally.

Grow Your Own Food. What better way to have fresh, organic produce at your disposal than to grow it yourself! Getting out in the dirt and creating your own garden has immeasurable benefits for your health.

My Challenge To You

Leave the walking dead behind and embrace your full potential by choosing a healthy lifestyle! It is the best present you can give yourself and your loved one over the coming holiday season.

P.S. I know switching to a healthier lifestyle can be overwhelming. There is so much information out there and if you’ve tried and failed in the past, you might be discouraged about trying again. Because I know the journey isn’t easy, I’d like to offer you a chance to try our superfood-packed Organifi Green Juice at a special halloween discount. Just use promo code: ZOMBIE for 20% OFF (good through 10/31/16 at midnight PST only)
