According to research by scientists from Washington State University and Harvard, there is a chemical in wine called resveratrol that can prevent your body’s fat cells from acquiring more fat. It turns out that resveratrol can turn ‘white fat’ into ‘beige fat,’ which is much easier to burn off and less likely to accumulate in your body.
Resveratrol can also lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer and slow aging.
Another study by researchers at the University of Denmark supports these findings after discovering that people who drink wine daily tend to have a slimmer waist than those who don’t.
A study from Arizona State University has also found that wine can suppress your appetite and help you avoid snacking and binge eating.
