Natural Remedies For Joint Pain You Need To Try

Joint pain is no joke. I have not personally experienced it, but I have watched some members of my family endure chronic joint pain and I see the effects it can have on your life.
The activities that used to be your favorites are no longer enjoyable and you end up passing up on doing things that used to bring you a ton of joy. That twinge in your knee or hip rears its ugly head more and more often and eventually leads you to a sedentary lifestyle.
Joint pain can be caused by an array of reasons: previous injuries, old age wear-and-tear, or as a side effect of a disease. No matter what the reason is, pain is pain and it just plain hurts.
So what can you do about it?
Of course, the first thing you should do is talk to your doctor. He or she might be able to uncover the cause and give you a suitable treatment. However, if the issue persists, you may need to look elsewhere for pain relief.
That’s why I recommend you check out these five fantastic supplements. They’re all-natural and won’t cost you an arm and a leg at the pharmacy.
1. Green Tea

Green tea is a joint-pain-relief superfood! Epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG), an active ingredient in green tea, is suggested by studies to reduce joint inflammation. A cup of this tasty drink a day might be the way to keep the orthopedist away.
Instead of having orange juice, try starting off your mornings with a cup of green tea lemonade. It’s delicious and has powerful pain fighting properties.
2. Burdock Root
Joint pain relief is just one of the many benefits of burdock root, an herb rich in fatty oils, sterols and tannins. All of these compounds have anti-inflammatory properties and may just be the ticket to get back your zest for life.
I won’t lie, the taste may not be to die for, but there are a couple of easy ways to mask it. My favorite is to cut up the root into small pieces, like you would with a carrot, then cook it stir-fry style. You can also experiment with adding burdock root to your favorite soup recipe.
3. Licorice Root

It turns out that licorice is far more than just a candy. The root of a licorice plant contains glycyrrhizin, a component that helps control inflammation and supports the body’s release of cortisol, which eases the pain.
One of the easiest ways to get in a daily helping of licorice root is making a tea out of it. On the stove, boil some water in a small saucepan. Add one teaspoon of dried licorice root for every 4 oz of water. Let it boil and steep, filter out the root and there you go, it’s that easy!
4. Nettles
Every gardener’s worst enemy is going to become your best friend. Nettles are loaded with vitamins and minerals, beating out superfoods like broccoli and spinach when it comes to pure nutritional content. In addition, it’s the magnesium and calcium in them that helps to fortify your bones and reduce joint inflammation.
You can pick nettles yourself (the best crop is in April and May) and prepare them just like you would with spinach. Getting rid of the sting isn’t hard either. As soon as nettles touch boiling water, the sting is instantly vanquished.
5. Turmeric

This ordinary kitchen spice is a natural pain reliever and doesn’t have any of the side effects of prescription medicines. Turmeric can be quite bitter when eaten alone, but the taste can be easily masked when combined with other ingredients.
From delicious coconut turmeric milk, hearty ginger turmeric carrot soup to mouth-watering smoothies, this Indian kitchen staple will soon be the food and supplement you can’t live without.
Here at Fitlife, our goal is to help you live the healthiest and happiest life possible. This starts with making sure you are pain-free. I sincerely hope that one of these natural remedies provides you the relief you need. Try one out for a few months and let us know what you think!
