Looking for that extra kick to speed up your weight-loss train? I’ve got just the thing for you. This drink uses some of the best ingredients for weight loss, cleansing and overall health.

Lemon & Spice Fat Burning Drink
 
Ingredients
  • 8 oz water
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Juice and rind from 1 lemon
  • Pinch of paprika
Instructions
  1. Grate the lemon rind and throw into boiling water. Boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Drink before and after each meal.
  4. Make in bulk and store in refrigerator if desired.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar

A study published in the Journal of Functional Foods found that drinking apple cider vinegar before a meal helps to lower blood sugar (and prevent blood sugar from spiking) by interfering with the body’s absorption of starches. Maintaining healthy blood sugar levels is key to preventing weight gain and/or successfully losing weight.

Apple cider vinegar is a natural antibiotic and is extremely beneficial to digestion. It may also help to suppress appetite, increase metabolism and boost energy.

  • Lemon Juice

Lemon juice contains pectin, which has been shown to help reduce cravings. Lemons also have an alkalizing/cleansing effect on the body, which is another reason why they are good at helping aid weight loss. Lemons are rich in antioxidants, antivirals, anti-inflammatories, flavonoids, potassium and vitamins.

  • Lemon Rind

Are you used to throwing away the lemon peel? Not anymore! Some of the lemon’s richest nutritional properties are in the rind! Lemon peels are full of antioxidants, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals that can boost health and reduce risk of illness. Lemon essential oil (one of my favorites) is taken straight from the lemon rind, not the juice.

  • Paprika (may also substitute cayenne)

Paprika boosts metabolism, suppresses weight loss, acts as an anti-inflammatory, supports healthy blood flow and may also help to lower blood pressure. Paprika is also rich in vitamin B6, which is important for getting oxygen to your cells, breaking down carbohydrates and helping you maintain stable energy levels.
