Manami Ito Playing Violin With Her Prosthetic Arm Is Truly Breathtaking

prosthetic arm, playing violin, your dreams

Think Your Dreams Are Impossible? Check This Out

How many times have you said you can’t do something because ‘insert your excuses here’?

If you think you can’t do something or you are unsuccessful at something you’ve tried, you may blame it on bad luck – chances are though that it wasn’t about luck at all.

Common reasons entrepreneurs and businesses believe their ideas failed include:

  • It wasn’t the right timing.
  • The customers didn’t understand the offer.
  • The bank pulled the plug.
  • The suppliers failed to keep up.
  • There were issues with product quality.
  • The product dried up.
  • It was the wrong business model.
  • It was the wrong location.
  • It was just bad luck.

Have you noticed a trend here?

Yup, they are all pointing fingers blaming luck, outside factors and others.

They don’t look at themselves and question what part they might’ve played in their lack of success.

This is not only true for business and financial success, but everything else, including sports, art, career, relationship, weight loss, health goals and so on.

Manami Ito’s Story

Watch this video of Manami Ito, a paralympic swimmer playing the violin with her prosthetic arm.

Seems impossible, yet she is doing it.

In November 2004, Ito, a then nursing student was in a horrible traffic accident and lost her right arm as a result. She didn’t give up on her life or dreams though.

She took up swimming and became a Paralympian, becoming 4th in the 100-meter breaststroke in 2008 in Beijing and 8th in 2012 in London.

She also returned to her studies, becoming the first nurse with a prosthetic arm in Japan.

If that wasn’t enough, she learned to play the violin and she is also touring the country with her amazing violin performances.

It would’ve been so easy for her to give up on her dream of becoming a nurse. She didn’t have to start swimming or play music either. She had the best excuse and she could’ve blamed her accident and prosthetic arm for not following her dreams or succeeding at her goals. No one would’ve blamed her for it.

Yet, she didn’t do that. She has achieved more than most people with all limbs and full health do and she’s still going.

Was it easy for her? You bet it wasn’t. Nursing school is tough, so is being a nurse. Training at a competitive level and becoming an Olympian is hard work. Learning to play the violin at this level takes practice. Competing at the Olympics, playing in front of a large audience and helping sick people as a nurse take courage, strength and patience.

Her story is the best example of hard work, dedication and going after one’s dreams.

Let her story be your inspiration.
