Magnesium is one of the seven essential macro minerals (requiring greater than or equal to 100mg/day), and is the second most abundant element in humans cells. It helps to regulate over 325 enzymes and aids in numerous bodily functions. Multiple health benefits of magnesium include transmission of nerve impulses, body temperature regulation, detoxification, energy production, and the formation of healthy bones and teeth.
This is one of those tricky minerals to obtain on the standard American diet, which is why a lot of people are deficient (it’s estimated that upwards of 80% of the population are deficient!).
Lemon is anti-carcinogenic, anti fungal, antibacterial and will pull toxins from your bloodstream. This is the reason why drinking lemon water first thing in the morning is said to be one of the best health practices discovered.
Lemon also offers easy to prepare remedies for a host of ailments such as colds, chills, headaches, coughs, flus, Influenza to mention just a few of the better-known recipes.
It is probably the only fruit which you will find in bars around the world – and there is a reason – its health-restoring and preserving qualities have been known for millenia.
We’ve been very critical about artificial sweeteners here in Fitlifer. In this post, we talked about what kinds of Stevia should you avoid, as well as the easy ways to choose the right kind of stevia.
That’s why, we always prefer to use the organic coconut stevia. It’s a natural, convenient and healthy sweetener. It contains no calories or carbohydrates and may be used in tea, coffee, smoothies, protein shakes or any recipe. But always make sure that you read the label.
