Lose Weight On Vacation

Eating healthy while you’re away from home is difficult.

I think we have all been guilty of playing the “whatever… I’m on vacation!” card.

Sure, the grocery section in your closest gas station is convenient, but they usually don’t have the healthiest options available. Most of that food is highly processed and isn’t going to be helping you lose weight anytime soon.

That’s why I’ve put together this list of six awesome fat-burning snacks that you can take along with you wherever you go. All it takes is a quick stop at your local grocery store before leaving town and you’re good to go!

1. Brazil Nuts


The first thing you’ll notice about Brazil nuts is that they’re big! Eating one or two of them is going to satisfy most midday cravings. I like to eat a couple in the afternoon. Not only do they help fill me up, they also are a great source of healthy fats that have been shown to help promote fat loss.

Brazil nuts are super high in fiber and protein. The fiber helps to regulate digestion and keeps your digestive tract happy. The protein fills you up so that you’re not tempted to continue eating.

Brazil nuts are also high in selenium, which is a powerful antioxidant. It helps to neutralize free radicals in your body, which can potentially harm your cells and hinder your ability to lose fat.

2. Chia Seeds

These little seeds pack a big punch. Not only are they high in fiber, they also have a respectable amount of super-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids in every bite.

Don’t be fooled by their tiny size. Chia seeds expand when they come in contact with water. That means they’re going to take up a lot of room in your stomach, giving you the feeling of being full without having eaten many calories.

These superfood seeds can be added to everything and anything. They can be sprinkled on yogurt and salads, or mixed into your juices or smoothies. Keep in mind that because they expand in liquid, you’ll want to enjoy the food and drink you add them too right away otherwise, they’ll continue to thicken.

3. Almonds


When you are on-the-go, you need a snack that can deliver you massive amounts of energy without taking much preparation. Almonds can help you out with that. They’re packed full of vitamins and minerals, which will help you recover from the stress you’re putting on your body by living your busy life.

Almonds are also high in monounsaturated fats – the “good” type of fat that helps prevent heart disease.

4. Blueberries

What if I told you that there is a superfood out there that not only tastes delicious, but is also going to help you burn fat?

Well there is, and it’s blueberries! Blueberries contain pterostilbene, a phenolic compound that has fat-burning properties.

This superfood also contains high levels of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins like vitamin K and manganese. All of these work together to help you control your blood sugar the natural way.

5. Apples


When you eat an apple, it breaks down slowly, giving you a controlled release of energy throughout the day. This, my friend, is what we call a complex carbohydrate. Apples give you sustained energy, so you can avoid the crash later on.

Apples also contain polyphenols, which can increase your endurance, strength, and even decrease your body fat!

Needless to say, apples are a great food to eat on the run if you want to burn fat and boost your energy.

6. Flax Seeds

Think of ground flax seeds as your secret ingredient against the war on hunger. You can sprinkle a teaspoon or two on top of any food and it will help you stay full for longer periods of time. They are high in Omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins and potassium.

It’s crucial that when you buy flax seeds you buy ground flax seeds. That’s because the whole seed is not processed by our bodies.

Flax seeds also contain lecithin, which dissolves unhealthy fats found in your digestive tract. A flax seed energy bar will be your powerful ally in battling the hunger and excess weight gain on the road!

There you have it, my friend. Six grab-and-go snacks that I know will keep you healthy, energized and in fat-burning mode all day long.
