Is Your Blood TOXIC? Drink this! – Saturday Strategy

Today I want to talk about something we all need to survive.

It’s something that we’re born with, all different types and is absolutely necessary to keep us functioning every single day.

It’s also something we take for granted.

I want you to listen up today because what I am about to share with you in an incredible testament to HOW POWERFUL your body is. And how detrimental toxic overload is to every single system of your body – both internally and externally.

You know I am a sucker for JUICE – and chances are, you’re probably on the GREEN JUICE train too if you’ve been a part of our community for a while.

There is a reason I am such a passionate dork when it comes to juicing! Yes, it’s delicious. Yes, it’s great for energy, balancing pH, skin vibrancy and so much more.

But my personal FAVORITE reason to drink my greens every single day is… PURIFICATION of our BLOOD!

Why Do We Have Blood?

Have you ever taken a moment to really think about what a MIRACLE it is that there is blood pumping continuously through your veins?

If you were to lay out all of your circulatory system end-to-end, it would stretch about 60,000 miles!

That means the veins, arteries and capillaries in YOUR body could wrap around the WHOLE WORLD 2 and ½ times!! That’s INSANE!

When it comes to keeping your body running, your circulatory system is one of the most vital pieces of the process. This incredibly intricate and complex system is responsible for transporting oxygen and nutrients to every single system, organ and cell in your body.

So how does it work?

At the center of your circulatory system is your ever-beating heart. It beats about 80 times every minute and over 100,000 times per day. In the average adult, their heart is pumping about 7 gallons of blood every 60 seconds.

There is no end to the cool things I could tell you about the human heart. Did you know it can actually keep beating on its own, WITHOUT the rest of the body, so long as it received oxygen? That’s so weird. And absolutely amazing!

Red blood cells deliver oxygen to all the cells in your body. White blood cells are the warriors that protect your body from infection.

A single blood cell only has a life of about 120 days. Don’t worry though – your bone marrow is constantly creating new red blood cells to replace the dead ones.  

Your blood is also important for regulating your pH, temperature and water content of cells. It protects against blood loss through clotting and protects against disease.

When The Blood Is Loaded With Toxins

Normally your body is very capable of dealing with toxins and has many built in systems that help to remove potential threats from the body quickly and effectively. However, our modern day environment has become filled with so many chemicals and foreign toxins that it has become a little too much for our bodies to handle without a little help.

Just since the industrial revolution, 80 thousand toxic chemicals have been released into our environment. Not to mention our food is being filled with preservatives, artificial ingredients and chemicals, antibiotics, steroids, growth hormones, fake colors and dyes and… well, you get the picture.

In the umbilical cord, blood of newborn babies they have found up to 287 toxins. Yikes.  

By the time you are an adult there is a good chance your poor circulatory system has seen its fair share of toxins and deserves some extra love and attention.

Researchers have recently put together a project called Chemical Ape that looked into the amount of toxins and chemicals that accumulate in the average human body. In just 9 people they found over 249 different chemicals and pollutants in the bloodstream, 167 of which were considered harmful to human health!

76 of those toxins were known carcinogens.

79 could cause birth defects.

94 of them were toxic to the brain and nervous system.

Now I don’t want to send you into panic mode. I don’t want you to feel like the situation is hopeless. It is far from it! AWARENESS if one of the most powerful tools we can use to change our lives and the lives of our family. When we know something is wrong we can do something to fix it!

Why are so many toxins getting into our blood?

Poor diet and lifestyle slowly wreaks havoc on your digestive tract, which creates imbalance in your gut’s microbiome, which leads to poor digestion and absorption and eventually a leaky gut that spills toxins into the blood instead of filtering them away.  

Not to mention breathing in crappy air, putting dangerous chemicals all over or around our skin, pharmaceuticals, etc…

Blood Detox Strategy

 

Luckily there are a lot of things you can do to help reduce your toxic exposure and enhance your body’s natural ability to detoxify! A great area to focus on in your circulatory system and blood.

When I say detoxify your blood, I am talking about helping the body safely remove toxins, foreign bacteria, fungus and viruses. Your body is already a wizard when it comes to purification and removal of waste, we just want to support it in what it already knows how to do.

The following foods have been studied for their ability to detoxify the blood and circulatory system:

Garlic – raw garlic is a true superfood and is loaded with sulfur. Sulfur is a mineral that stimulates the liver to produce certain enzymes that have the specific task of filtering toxins from the blood stream! Studies have even shown it to be effective in removing heavy metals from the blood.

Parsley – Scientists accidentally discovered parsley as a toxin-removing superfood when participants in a 1995 study ate a bowl of Vietnamese soup which happened to contain Parsley. This herb ended up quickening the removal of heavy metals from their bodies and has since been researched for its potent detoxifying properties.

Turmeric – this “queen of spices” has been studied extensively for its ability to INCREASE natural detoxification systems in the body and may even mitigate the effects of dietary carcinogens. Turmeric is a supplement I take DAILY to combat toxins and inflammation. We even made our own supplement and it ROCKS!

With the use of REAL, WHOLE FOODS as medicine we CAN live long, happy, vibrant lives! As we work to heal our bodies we will also begin to heal our planet.

  • 1 handful parsley leaves
  • 1 lime
