Hummus Recipe Made With Cauliflower (Keto Friendly!)

Written by: Lindsay Sibson

There are two types of people in this world.

1. Those whole gingerly dunk their chip into the dip.

2. Those who make it a mission to scoop up AS MUCH dip as possible.

It’s not that you’re trying to be a dip hog… it’s just DIP is darn delicious!

Now, depending on the type of DIP, being a delightful dipper can be a bit dangerous – because it’s easy to overindulge.

However, you are a health-wise Fitlifer that knows there is ALWAYS a healthy solution.

To all my fellow big dippers out there, this low carb hummus recipe is for YOU. It’s keto approved, so go ahead and dig right in!

What Is A Ketogenic Diet?

Plain and simple, the ketogenic diet is:

  • Low carb and high fat diet
  • Trains your body to get its energy from KETONES and not glucose

The reason its focus is on low carbs and high fat is because when you eat carbs, your body naturally converts them into glucose and insulin:

  • Glucose is the easiest molecule for your body to convert into energy (it’s IMMEDIATE fuel)
  • Insulin’s job is to carry the glucose through your bloodstream.

When your body doesn’t have carbs to burn – it uses FAT as fuel instead!

This cycle is known as ketosis, because the fats you eat get converted into ketones through your liver to become your body’s main source of energy.

How To Make Cauliflower Hummus
This creative creation is compliments of I Breathe I’m Hungry - well done!
  1. To prep: cook the cauliflower in boiling water with 3 garlic cloves and ½ teaspoon sea salt until softened. Drain and set aside.
  2. Put the cooked cauliflower mixture in a food processor and blend.
  3. Add the tahini paste, lemon juice and 2 raw garlic cloves, olive oil and ¾ teaspoon sea salt.
  4. Blend until smooth. Add more seasoning to reach desired taste.
  5. Scoop into a bowl to serve with your favorite chopped veggies (celery, carrots, radishes).

Warning! Once you start dipping, it’s nearly impossible to STOP.

But, since it’s made with cauliflower and has minimal carbs – don’t hesitate to dig right  in (again and again and again).

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
