Frankincense is widely known for being in the Nativity story in the Bible. It is thought to be one of the three gifts that were offered to baby Jesus and because of this, frankincense is highly symbolic.

Even though frankincense might be considered as highly symbolic, it has been used for many years and in many different cultures because of its amazing medicinal properties.

Frankincense can help you relieve stress almost instantly. The scent of frankincense helps to create the feeling of relaxation and peace. To use frankincense to instantly relieve stress, you can mix a few drops of frankincense oil with a few drops of almond oil and rub the mixture on the back of your neck. You can also try rubbing a little of the mixture between the palm of your hands and take a few deep breaths.

If you are trying to avoid getting sick this year with a cough or cold, frankincense oil can help prevent these illnesses. Frankincense oil has antibacterial and antiviral properties that can help you fight against the cold and flu. The oil also contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help clear your nasal passages in the event that you do become sick. If you do become sick with a cold or flu, simply take a rag, add a few drops of frankincense oil to it, place the rag over your nose and inhale deeply a few times. In just a short amount of time you should start feeling the effects of having a clear nose.

Frankincense is also great for your oral health. The strong antiseptic properties found in frankincense is very effective at killing germs and bacteria in your mouth. It not only kills bad breath, but it can also help to prevent tooth decay and infections. To use frankincense for your oral health, add a few drops of frankincense oil to a little bit of baking soda and brush away!

Everyone suffers from indigestion or digestive distress from time to time and when you do, frankincense oil can come to the rescue. Frankincense oil can help relieve gas, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome. Frankincense oil works by speeding up the digestion of food.
