How You Can Get The “IT” Factor – Mindset Monday

“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” – Albert Einstein

During this post I want to talk about the “IT” factor.

The “IT” factor is why some people are so successful in life and why others just kind of get by. Some people have that roaring flame and others only a small candle.  The truth is, we all have the roaring fire inside us, but not everyone allows it to burn.

So what is the “IT” factor? And how can one acquire it?

What Is The “IT” Factor?

My friend, Gus asked me this question yesterday on my Facebook profile:

“What’s the ‘it’ factor that separates those who make it from those who don’t? We know plenty of people who attend all the seminars and events, read all the books and probably know more about the subject than some experts. They even understand the importance of taking action… so what’s the ‘it?’”

You know the energy or frequency you feel when you meet somebody extraordinary? The type of person who you somehow know will be successful no matter what happens in their life? They have the “it” factor and everyone who meets them can tell.

Is it possible to become someone with the “it” factor if you don’t have it now? Absolutely. We are constantly evolving, changing, growing and developing in new ways and the more control we take over that process, the more our life will turn out just the way we intend it to.

Here are a few key factors to consider as you try to become someone who radiates the “it” factor:

#1. How Bad Do You Want It

“When a resolute young fellow steps up to the great bully, the world, and takes him boldly by the beard, he is often surprised to find it comes off in his hand, and that it was only tied on to scare away the timid adventurers.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Most people think they want it, but when they come to an obstacle or challenge, they stop. They give up. They take the easy way out.

If this has happened to you, it’s not your fault. The human mind is set up to keep you safe. It likes predictability and security. So when life gets scary, it becomes easy to want to back off and continue doing what we’ve always done. It is easy to stay comfortable.

"it"factor, monday, determination

Maybe you’ve started something in the past, but when your alarm goes off in the morning… you can’t quite find the drive to get out of bed. You don’t want to finish the degree. You don’t want to talk to that intimidating person you look up to. You don’t want to go to the interview. So you shrug it off and continue in the way you always have.

If you’re ready to radically change your life, then you have got to lean into the discomfort. Confront the resistance. Allow your muscles to feel a burn. Push into that feeling of uncertainty and insecurity until you come out conquerer.

#2. Enthusiasm

“Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill

Enthusiasm comes from the latin word “entheos,” which means to move with spirit or to be inspired or possessed by ecstasy.

People with the “it” factor are the most optimistic people in the room. They will take every hardship, every challenge, every circumstance that is not in their favor and they will act as if it is the greatest opportunity of their life.

'it'factor, monday, enthusiasm

They live in a state of gratitude and open hands, accepting whatever comes their way in life and using it as an opportunity to grow or expand. You don’t have to dance down the road (though it wouldn’t hurt) or sing in the shower, but embrace an attitude of gratitude and enthusiasm for life.

If you are not enthusiastic about what you do every day, then maybe that is a sign that something needs to change. Take some time to sit with yourself and figure out what you really want, where you passion lies and the steps you need to take to live in a state of enthusiasm and passion for what you do.

#3. You Have To Do It For Others

“What is the essence of life? To serve others and to do good.” – Aristotle

There are too many takers on this planet. We need more givers. The givers will always win.

You will never be successful doing things just for you. You have to do it for others! You are blessed to do it for other people. If you wake up with the idea in your mind that you are going to make someone else’s life better… it will change your world and the direction your life takes entirely.

You will be successful as you turn your focus outward and live to bless other people.

If you learn to live from this space, you will have more energy to truly live than you ever have before. You will be able to create the dream life you’ve always wanted. Not only that, but you will also find a deep satisfaction and fulfillment in what you do everyday.

Remember, we’re in this together.

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
