How To Reframe Your Thoughts To Improve Your Health Journey

Developing the ability to reframe your thoughts can be a life-changing skill that can improve your health too. It can also help you with health challenges, life-style changes and the overall healing of your body.
Let’s say you find out about the dangers of gluten or get diagnosed with gluten-sensitivity or even celiac disease. Giving up yummy comfort food like bread and pasta – not to mention cake – can be difficult.
Of course, there are absolutely delicious gluten-free alternatives you can make or buy. They are better for your health too. But when you’re out with a friend or passing a beautiful bakery, your mouth may start to water looking at the showcased tarts and pies or watching a friend indulging in a delicious cake. Knowing the health consequences may stop you from grabbing a moist cookie on the go, but your eyes may still want it.
During such times, it is just so easy to get into victimhood full of poor-me thoughts, throwing mini-tantrums silently in your brain and even wanting to scream or cry. It is normal. As a child you were used to cookies. Now that your inner-child is being denied, it wants to be a victim.
But you can get out of this victimhood by reframing your thoughts and entering into the world of positivity.
But how on Earth can you do that?
Here are some great examples for how to reframe your thoughts.

||My health problems will improve (when I don’t eat gluten and choose to eat gluten-free instead).
|I miss cake so much.
||I won’t be bloated and gassy, my stomach will be flat and I will feel light (when I don’t eat gluten and choose to eat gluten-free instead).
|I can’t eat anything anymore.
||I can eat healthier. There is an abundance of gluten-free alternative and healthy foods out there for me.
|I hate my body. This is unfair.
||My body will thank me (when I don’t eat gluten and choose to eat gluten-free instead).
||Life is beautiful when I choose to be healthy and choose to treat my body with love, respect and care.
Every time a negative thought enters your mind, acknowledge it, then reframe it with something positive. If you notice, none of the positive listed stuff is fake or a lie, your body will truly thank you and you will feel better avoiding gluten (thinking of the above-mentioned example).
Don’t make things up; say true positive statements. If you can’t think of anything, dig deep. Just think how proud you will be if you stick to a healthy diet or other lifestyle practice.
It will take some practice, but eventually you will notice that less and less negative statements will pop into your head. Instead it will be filled with positive and empowering thoughts.
Reframing and newly learned empowering thoughts can make you stronger when temptations occur, when doubt enters your mind and when dealing with a setback. They can help you stick with a new routine leading to a healthier life. Not to mention that healthy, positive, empowering and loving thoughts create a positive environment in your mind and body that ultimately enhances healing.
You will notice that positive thinking will become easier if not second nature. It can truly transform your life.
