Maybe you have had unsuccessful attempts at eating clean and healthy before, because you love those high sugar, high fat comfort foods and you just can’t seem to control yourself.

And you may be beating yourself up for not being able to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

You are not alone, friend.

I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to rationalize too much and lose control to the point you become disappointed in or even angry at yourself. It’s because of this that I have written this article for you, to show you how you CAN regain total control over what you eat – you CAN turn back around and start shedding those layers off your waist and simply start feeling like a million bucks!

What You First MUST Know About Addictive Behavior

Your addiction or attachment to feel good/comfort foods is feedback that your mind is communicating to you about what it truly believes is valuable to your body – and you are getting that “value” through eating junk!

You have been eating comfort foods like this for long enough, your mind has basically been “trained” on these foods and has come to believe that, in order to receive relief from stress or gain comfort, it needs certain foods that more than likely aren’t actually the best for you. It’s a mind trick!

But your mind is YOURS. You are in control of it and you CAN reverse these attachments!

To regain control, you first need to find out what these habits are truly giving you and find healthy alternatives that offer the same or greater benefits without the adverse health consequences.

This is exactly what I have done to cut a significant amount of sugar out of my diet. Not only do I feel heaps better now, but it has also allowed me to stick to a nutritional plan that is helping me shed some serious fat.

The 2 Step Process

Step 1 – The Self-Inquiry

When you want to eat something (a comfort food), ask yourself:

  • What does it give me?
  • How is it serving me?
  • Does it fulfill me in some way?
  • Does it help me cope with stress, boredom?

Find out what this habit is actually doing for you and then decide whether or not it’s really worth it to you!

Step 2 – The Creative Process

Once you have identified what this habit is doing for you, you can start thinking of all the different ways that you can get those needs met more effectively.

Is it stress related? Perhaps you can go for a walk, take 3 deep breaths or find a healthier/less calorie dense alternative.

Are you bored? Perhaps you can take this time to visualise your dream body.

These are just guidelines; you need to come up with your own ways for meeting your needs. You’re the one who knows what’s best for you, after all!

Now Give It A Try

Time to do the “work” – trust me, it’s worth it. Think about the healthy body that you are working on or imagine the way you want to feel after your body is running on clean fuel.

Make a list of all the unhealthy habits that you want to get rid of and run them through the process above – then start implementing your creative solutions and making awesome change today! Myself and all of believe in you – go get em’, tiger!

Now I’d love to hear from you! Tell me what you liked from this article, what has worked for you and what hasn’t. Leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
