How To Poop EVERY Day
Yay! I pooped today!
For some, this may not seem like a cause for celebration, but if you have ever suffered from constipation… then YOU know EXACTLY what a relief it is when you finally “go.”
I’ve had a pretty epic battle with IBS over the years and would be willing to bet that I have hidden food sensitivities going on. When all the doctor wanted to do years ago was prescribe me a daily medication, I KNEW I had to “figure it out” naturally.
I’ve had my wins and my fails, but luckily, I have found a way to poop everyday – even when I am on-the-go traveling.
YOU, my friend, should be pooping everyday!
WHY? Because being full of “it” literally makes you feel like “sh*t.”
Here is what you need to know about constipation:
CAUSES |
SYMPTOMS |
- Not enough water or fiber in your diet
|
|
- Lack of exercise and being active
|
|
|
|
|
- Stomach and intestinal pain
|
- Medications, especially antacids and antidepressants
|
- A sense that everything didn’t come out
|
- Disordered eating (binge eating, infrequent eating)
|
|
HOW To Poop Everyday
Drink coffee, they said. Eat more vegetables (and prunes), they said. Stay hydrated, they said.
Well you DID and you DO… and you still can’t go number two. What gives?
Follow these 3 steps to create your personalized pooping plan:
1. Take It OUT |
- Take a close look at WHAT you are eating everyday and work on removing constipating foods such as:
- Dairy: milk, cheese, ice cream
- Processed junk foods: chips, cookies, frozen dinners
- Bread products: sliced bread, bagels
- Sugary drinks: stick to water, black coffee and herbal teas (sweetened with stevia if desired)
|
2. Put It IN |
- Eat foods that promote digestion and elimination:
- Vegetables: brussel sprouts, broccoli, cucumbers, cauliflower
- Avocado
- Berries: raspberries, blueberries, strawberries
- Seeds: chia and ground flax
- Spices: turmeric, cayenne, ginger, oregano, cumin, rosemary
- DRINK DRINK DRINK filtered water (worth another mention and reminder as it is very important to keeping your body lubricated)
|
3. Give It A BOOST |
- Take a probiotic to promote a healthy gut, which is vital to proper digestion and absorption of the food you eat
- Kombucha, fermented vegetables, sauerkraut, kimchi, apple cider vinegar
- I take Biotic Balance every morning
- Take a nightly magnesium supplement: appx. 2,000 mg of magnesium malate
- It serves hundreds of functions within your body
|
If you REALLY want to kick it up a notch, consider adding a morning healing tonic to your routine. I have found that by far, THIS has helped me the most in getting things moving!
Drink this tonic first thing in the morning to promote a healthy bowel movement that day (I typically experience one within an hour of drinking it):
“Gotta Go” Morning Healing Tonic
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar |
- Acts as a natural laxative
- Has malic acid, which helps ease digestive problems
- Contains beneficial bacteria for better digestion
|
1 teaspoon chia seeds |
- Great source of dietary fiber
- High level of omega-3 fatty acids helps ease inflammation
|
1 teaspoon kelp granules |
- Iodine content helps regulate your metabolism rate
- Improves digestion and fluid balance
|
1 teaspoon turmeric powder |
- Curcumin can help soothe your intestinal tract
- Has anti-inflammatory properties
|
3 drop essential lemon oil (or juice from ½ fresh lemon) |
- A great digestive aid
- Jumpstarts your digestive enzymes
|
Pinch of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt |
- Acts as a natural laxative
- Cleans impurities from your intestines
|
Add water (as much as you want), stir and chug it down.
WARNING: It tastes absolutely AWFUL! But I figured if I was able to drink cheap beer in college, then I can handle a shot of this concoction.
Tip: Use less water = the less you have to drink! Just follow it up with a fresh glass of filtered water to help wash it down.
If you are super backed up and absolutely desperate for some natural relief, then try out a salt water flush. What happens isn’t pretty at all, but it will do wonders in “clearing out the pipes.”
What you need:
- 1-2 tbsp Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
- 32 ounces warm filtered water
What to do:
- Shake the water and salt together until dissolved.
- Drink the salt water quickly until finished (within a 5 minute window).
- Stay near a toilet (for at least 3 hours).
- You will experiences a journey of bowel movements starting with a more solid consistency and then ending in 100% liquid.
- Use this flush as often as needed, but check with your doctor and do your own research BEFORE trying it out.
Ain’t no shame in your pooping game NOW that you will be well on your way to doing the deed on the daily.

Do NOT use the turmeric spice in your cupboard as a health supplement. Many spices are adulterated with carcinogens, GMO corn, dyes, and even sawdust!
Choose a super critically extracted, Organic, Non-GMO turmeric supplement like this one.
