Brushing your teeth is something you do at least twice a day.
But have you ever wondered what is really in your toothpaste?
Commercial toothpaste includes a variety of harmful ingredients, such as:
- Sodium lauryl sulphate, which is a foaming agent
- Triclosan, which is an antibacterial
- Glycerin, which prevents mineralization of the bone
- Fluoride
What Is Fluoride?
Fluoride is a mineral that helps to make your bones strong. It prevents cavities and is essential for your teeth. However, in large quantities it can be dangerous.
You are being exposed to fluoride during your daily life through air pollution, toothpaste and mouthwashes. The fluoride added to water and toothpaste in the U.S. is actually a very toxic element.
This dangerous toxicity is why 98% of Western European countries rejected fluoridation of water, stating that forcing the population to take medication through water unwillingly was unethical.
Healthy And Natural Alternatives To Toothpaste
Mix some coconut oil, baking soda and if you wish, peppermint oil to make your own toothpaste. The baking soda will make you teeth extra white.
Coconut oil is abundant in lauric acid that is a potent antiviral, antimicrobial, antifungal and antiprotozoal. It helps to slow down bacteria growth that leads to tooth decay. You can start oil pulling in the morning by swishing 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes.
Simply dissolve a 2–3 teaspoons of sea salt in a glass of warm water. Gargle it for 20 seconds using it as a mouthwash.
