With the summer coming to an end and the intimidating months of fall and winter ahead, now is the perfect time to prepare your own jar of this powerful immune-boosting concoction.
Benefits of Garlic
Turns out that garlic does a lot more than keep vampires and ghosts away. Garlic has long been known as one of the earth’s greatest health tonics and is rich in properties that can boost your health. Garlic has antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic and anti-cancer properties.
Out of 37 observational studies in humans using garlic, 28 studies showed garlic to have some cancer preventative effects.
Studies have shown that garlic can help prevent plaque buildup in the arteries, which cause clots, heart attacks and strokes. It also improves circulation and boosts the immune system.
It can also stimulate the amino acid and antioxidant, glutathione. This amino acid is important for preventing damage to important cellular structures in the body caused by free radicals, heavy metals, etc.

Raw honey is considered to be one of nature’s purest and most valuable foods. It contains over 5,000 live enzymes, 27 minerals, 22 amino acids and has antimicrobial, antibacterial and antioxidant properties!
Honey is one of those awesome natural sweeteners that is delicious and also very good for you. In one spoonful you can receive all of the amazing nutrients listed above. Raw honey has also been shown to help metabolize cholesterol and fatty acids in the body, which in turn makes it easier for you to maintain a healthy weight.

Why raw? Processed honey is heated, filtered and often mix with other ingredients like corn syrup that you absolutely don’t want in your body. How to Make Perfect Raw Garlic-Infused Honey
How should I use my honey-infused garlic?
Raw Garlic-Infused Honey
- ½ pint of 100% raw honey
- 10 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
- 5 sprigs of fresh thyme leaves (optional)
- Put the minced garlic in the bottom of a standard sized mason jar (½ a pint).
- Fill the remaining space in the mason jar with honey, then stir in the thyme leaves.
- Place the jar in a window seal, preferably facing south.
- After one month the garlic will have infused completely into the honey and will be ready to use. It will stay food for several months in the refrigerator.
Because the raw garlic has been sitting in honey, it should actually taste surprisingly good. You can eat a spoonful raw, especially if you begin to feel under the weather. You can also spread it on toast with organic butter, use it in homemade salad dressings (see below) and add it to your favorite homemade granola recipes.
Homemade Honey Garlic Vinaigrette
- 2 tbsp raw garlic-infused honey
- Fresh squeezed juice from one lemon
- Pinch of sea salt
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 4 tbsp organic extra virgin olive oil
- Whisk all ingredients into a smooth dressing.
- Use immediately or refrigerate for later use.
