How To Be A Champion In New Situations
“My mother said to me, ‘If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.’ Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso.”
– Pablo Picasso
How great would it be to walk into any new situation or experience and feel completely confident.
A new job…
A new assignment…
A new school…
A new relationship…
Instead of feeling nervous, unsure, insecure or completely clueless (I’ve been there!), what if you could walk into new experiences as if you were already a MASTER?
The truth is, you can! And in this blog, I am going to show you HOW to do just that. First, let me tell you a story about a guy you may have heard of named, Pablo Picasso.
An Expensive Napkin
Picasso was sitting in a Paris café when a little girl approached and asked if he would do a sketch for her on a paper napkin. Picasso politely agreed, swiftly executed the work, and handed back the napkin.
The little girl’s mother approached and said, “Thank you so much, Pablo! This is stunning.” Pablo nodded and then, unexpectedly, asked for a rather significant amount of money.
The mother was shocked, “How can you ask for so much? It took you a minute to draw this’” “No,” Picasso replied, “It took me 40 years.”
The point Pablo was trying to get across, of course, was that it took him years of practice to get to a point where he could draw such a stunning sketch on a napkin. Although to the little girl he was able to complete her picture in under 3 minutes, Pablo was sketching from years of sweat, tears, failures, successes and self mastery of the art of drawing.
Recognizing Your True Value
“Too many people undervalue what they are and overvalue what they’re not.” – Unknown
You have life experiences that are uncharted. You are a culmination of every moment, experience, heartache and triumph from your past. You are a piece of art that has been created through every thought, feeling and decision you have ever had or made.
THIS is why your VALUE is so much higher (walking into ANY situation) than you think it is.
When you recognize your value, you can go into ANYTHING new and create from a space of your true – knowingness – worth.
Even though you don’t always have experiences directly related to your current job, they still add value to who you are as a person AND as an employee.
Visualization To Prepare For New Experiences
I’d like you to try this visualization exercise the next time you are about to walk into something new. I do this regularly when I am about to enter a situation that is unfamiliar to me.
Sit somewhere quiet and just take a few deep breaths until you feel your heartbeat slow and your muscles relax.
Now, allow past experiences to enter your mind like a film reel. Fast forward through tapes of memories until you start seeing experiences that may be beneficial to whatever new thing you’re about to walk into.
Maybe you see yourself resolving a tough situation at your last job.
Or maybe you see yourself being kind to a stranger and showing empathy.
Maybe you see yourself as a young child making a new friend or being a peacemaker when your family was in an argument.
Whatever the experiences may be, focus in on them as they play in your mind. Recognize the value that you bring into the world because of who you are and who you have been.
And then, envision yourself stepping forward into the new challenge.
Then open your eyes and move forward with faith in yourself and with trust that the universe has prepared you for this moment.
What Do I Have To Offer?
“Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have.” – Jim Rohn
The truth is, you already have the strength, dedication, courage and ability to tackle any new experience that comes into your life. You’ve just gotta learn to recognize your own value.
You have experiences from your past that are unlike anything the people around you have experienced. You have things in your life that have built you into your current self. Things that make you special and unique.
This understanding of your own self will bring you confidence in the workplace as you start a new job. It will help you feel secure as you embark on new adventures in your life. It will help you feel confident that you are someone worth being with as you start new relationships.
I would like to ask you this question: How will you add more value to what you are currently doing in your life?
When you do this, when you consistently focus on adding more value to the world, you will find it coming right back to you tenfold. It’s just the way the world works. How incredible is that?!

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
