Everyone seems to have a different opinion these days about how much sleep you need.

Some nights, I would love to get 10+ hours of sleep and on others, I can’t help but think how productive I could be if I only needed 4!

I decided to go straight to a reliable source to find out what the experts are saying on the matter.

The National Sleep Foundation recently put out a chart of how much a person should sleep according to their age, giving recommendations for infants up to seniors. Check it out below and don’t forget to scroll down for more sleep tips!

Of course, everyone is unique and not everyone will fit this chart perfectly. In the end, you have to listen to your own body and figure out how much sleep makes you feel your best!

Some Tips To Help You Feel More Rested

Having a consistent bedtime/wake up time can really help with feeling rested on a daily basis. If your sleep schedule is constantly changing, it can be tricky for your body to stay balanced and get the right sleep hormones moving when you need them.

Why else is consistency important? Some studies have even shown that consistent (or not consistent) bedtimes can have an effect on brain development in children.

Live Plants In Your Bedroom

NASA recently did a study on the ability plants have to help bring a calming vibe into the room as well as cleanse the air and help you sleep better. Some of the most effective plants include Aloe Vera, Lavender, Jasmine, English Ivy and Snake Plant.

Listen To Meditation/Relaxation Tracks

Nothing knocks me out like a good meditation or relaxation track. If you find yourself lying awake at night with your mind racing about this and that, try turning on a meditation track. It can help you get in control of your thoughts and find a space mentally where you are more likely to fall asleep.

Make A Bedtime Drink

We can’t leave out the benefits of good sleep-promoting nutrients! Try some of these delicious concoctions before you turn in for the night.

Sleep is SO SUPER IMPORTANT to your overall health and wellbeing! Sleep deprivation could be a big factor behind your unstable moods, poor immune system and even your success (or lack of) in the work field.

Make sleep a priority. You (and your family) won’t regret it!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
