Benefits Of Tuna Stuffed Avocados 

Both tuna and avocado are extremely healthy for your body and come with amazing benefits.

Tuna is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids that help to reduce high cholesterol levels. Lowering high cholesterol means that you can have better blood flow and your heart can pump like it should. Tuna is also rich in potassium, which is a mineral that helps to lower your blood pressure. Combining omega-3 fatty acids with potassium helps to eliminate inflammation in your cardiovascular system.

Avocados are just as equally healthy. Even though they are full of calories and fat, avocados are one of the healthiest foods that you can eat. They’re loaded with fiber that helps keep you feeling full for longer and are loaded with lutein, which helps to protect your eyes.

Healthy Tuna Stuffed Avocado
 
Ingredients
  • 1 avocado, halved and pitted
  • 1 (4.5 oz) cans tuna, drained
  • ¼ cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp minced jalapeno
  • ¼ cup cilantro leaves, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
  1. Scoop out some of the avocado from the pitted area to widen the "bowl" area. Place the scooped avocado into a medium-size mixing bowl. Mash it with a fork.
  2. Add the tuna, bell pepper, jalapeno and cilantro to the mixing bowl. Pour lime juice over. Stir it all together until everything is well mixed.
  3. Scoop the tuna into the avocado bowls. Season with salt and pepper.

This amazing recipe also calls for red bell peppers, which are just as healthy for you. Red bell peppers contain a large amount of vitamin C, more than 200 percent of your daily recommended amount. They are also a great source of folate and vitamin B6, which help prevent anemia. Red bell peppers are also loaded with antioxidants, such as lycopene, which can potentially help prevent cancer.
